St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 75 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Ashley Marie Adams, 41, Franklin, LA, was arrested on April 8, 2025, at 8:38 pm for battery-simple. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Chadwick Michael Landry, 52, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on April 8, 2025, at 3:04 pm on two warrants for failure to appear for the charges of principal to interference with custody of a child, operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled, and license plate light required. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Gary Paul Vining, 56, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on April 8, 2025, at 8:33 pm on a Morgan City Police Department warrant for the charge of violation of protective orders. Vining is being held for another agency.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Tariq J. Perry, 25, Franklin, LA, was arrested on April 8, 2025, at 5:24 pm on two warrants for the following charges:

• Turning movements and required signals
• Stop signs and yield signs
• Obstruction of highway-aggravated
• Resisting arrest or officer
• Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
• Possession of firearm-felon
• Illegal carrying of a weapon
• Open container
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Transactions involving drug proceeds
• Hit and run

Bail on the SMPSO warrants have not been set at this time.
