St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 32 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Casey Joseph Moresi, 50, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on July 31, 2024, at 11:39 am for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

William Joseph Roberson Sr., 62, Patterson, LA, was arrested on July 31, 2024, at 4:07 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, careless operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle with an expired motor vehicle inspection. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Gerald Wayne Chenevert, 54, Opelousas, LA, was arrested on July 31, 2024, at 2:30 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for the charges of possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by convicted felon, possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles, and operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Spencer Bourda, 33, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on July 31, 2024, at 4:58 pm on the following charges:

• Possession of schedule II with intent to distribute
• Possession of schedule I with intent to distribute
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Violation of uniform CDS law-drug free zone
• Possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor
• Transactions involving drug proceeds

Bail was set at $351,000.
