Centerville Man Arrested in Shooting Investigation
Roderick Beauregard Rodriguez, 51, Centerville, LA, was arrested on January 7, 2023, at 11:13 pm for attempted 2nd-degree murder.
On Sunday, January 7, 2024, at approximately 1:07 pm, deputies responded to a residence in Centerville on a welfare concern call. Upon arrival, they found a man wounded by gunfire in a camper at the residence.
Acadian Ambulance was called to the scene and the wounded man was transported to a hospital and subsequently flown by helicopter to an out-of-town medical facility.
Detectives were called to the scene and opened an investigation into the incident. Through the investigation, Rodriguez was identified as a person of interest in the case.
Evidence was obtained and Rodriguez was arrested, charged with attempted 2nd-degree murder, and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.
Bail was set at $500,000.
