Arrest Report - May 1, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 107 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Eligah Tate, 21, 616 Cypremort Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on April 28, 2017 at 2:19 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of simple battery and disturbing the peace (offensive words). A correctional officer transported Tate from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Tate was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Stanesha Mars, 34, 161 Sherwood Drive, Lafayette, LA was arrested on April 28, 2017 at 11:12 am for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and improper lane usage. A deputy responded to a report of a reckless driver on US Highway 90. The deputy located the suspect vehicle and observed the driver swerving. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Mars. The deputy observed that Mars speech was slurred and that she stumbled as she walked. The deputy conducted a standardized field sobriety test. Mars performed the test poorly. Following the investigation, Mars was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $2,750.

 

Velma Patterson, 53, 123 Jupiter Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on April 29, 2017 at 12:46 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, failure to stop at a stop sign, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy investigating a separate complaint encountered Patterson at her residence and located the active warrant for her arrest. Patterson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Patterson was released on a $350 bond.

 

Edward Beasley, 39, 110 Baronne Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on April 30, 2017 at 10:20 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of hit and run driving and failure to yield right of way. While assisting Baldwin Police, a deputy located Beasley at his residence and found that he was wanted on the active warrant. Beasley was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $1,500.

 

Lenis Clement, Jr., 55, 6107 Highway 87, Charenton, LA was arrested on April 30, 2017 at 11:04 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and resisting an officer. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer located the active warrant for his arrest. No bail is set. 

 

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that the Narcotics Section made the following arrests:

 

Chett Von Buelow, 24, 1530 Bernice Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on April 28, 2017 at 9:44 pm for speeding and possession of marijuana. A narcotics detective working on US Highway 90 in Morgan City observed a vehicle traveling 84 miles per hour in a posted 70 miles per hour zone. The detective conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, identified as Von Buelow, the deputy smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Von Buelow admitted that there was marijuana inside the vehicle. The detective located the illegal substance. Von Buelow was released on a summons to appear in court on July 10, 2017.
