Arrest Report - April 18, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 32 complaints and reports that the following arrests were made by the Uniformed Patrol and Narcotics Sections:

 

Somoa Scott, 140 Village Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on April 17, 2017 at 2:32 pm for the following offenses:

  • Improper lane usage
  • Possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Possession of a firearm or illegal carrying of a concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies

 

Racquel Barber, 41, 140 Village Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on April 17, 2017 at 2:32 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule IV (carisoprodol)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance

 

Joshua Smith, 21, 140 Village Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on April 17, 2017 at 1:30 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana).

 

A patrol deputy and narcotics detective conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the car drive off the roadway on Lake Palourde Road. The deputy made contact with the occupants inside and identified them as Smith, Scott, and Barber. The deputy received consent to search Smith and located a small amount of marijuana. Through the course of the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant to search the residence of Scott, Barber, and Smith and found synthetic cannabinoids and methamphetamine packaged in a manner consistent with illegal drug sales. Detectives also located a firearm at the residence. Detectives collected evidence that the drugs belonged to Scott and Barber. The three suspects were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Smith is being held on detainers for warrants from other agencies. No bail is set.

 

William Doiron, 21, 1055 Oak Harbor Drive, Stephensville, LA was arrested on April 17, 2017 at 5:55 pm for theft of goods and criminal damage to property. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy spoke with store security personnel and viewed video evidence of a subject breaking a security bracket and stealing an iPhone. The deputy positively identified the subject as Doiron. Narcotics detectives located Doiron at a business in Morgan City and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in reference to the investigation. Doiron was subsequently arrested and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
