Arrest Report - April 17, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the holiday weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 160 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Joshua L. Boudreaux, 31, 403 Cypress Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on April 13, 2017 at 7:30 am for aggravated obstruction of a highway of commerce. A deputy responded to a complaint of a vehicle parked partially in the roadway on Highway 182 in Bayou Vista near Lagonda Lane. The deputy located the driver and identified him as Boudreaux. While speaking with him, the deputy learned that Boudreaux had taken an illegal drug prior to stopping the vehicle in the roadway. The deputy contacted Acadian Ambulance and Boudreaux was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. Following his release from the medical facility, Boudreaux was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Matthew S. Ortamond, 24, 1242 Herman Dupuis Road, Breaux Bridge, LA was arrested on April 13, 2017 at 9:21 am for violation of the general speed law (construction zone). A deputy observed a vehicle traveling at 83 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour construction zone on Highway 90 in the Calumet area. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Ortamond, was subsequently released on a summons to appear in court on July 10, 2017.

 

Demetre K. Mitchell, 24, 119 Caesar Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on April 13, 2017 at 11:51 am on 2 Chitimacha Tribal Police Department warrants for 3 counts of criminal trespass and 2 counts each of simple burglary and attempted burglary. A deputy located Mitchell at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. Mitchell was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Jasmiera Jack, 17, 160 Appolon Road, Four Corners, LA was arrested on April 13, 2017 at 12:22 pm for simple battery. A deputy responded to a report of a battery that occurred at a residence in Four Corners. The deputy found evidence that Jack struck a female victim in the face during an argument. The victim suffered 2 small lacerations to her check. Jack was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Jack was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Jerimiah Thomas, 22, 1151 Goode Street, Houma, LA was arrested on April 14, 2017 at 1:23 am for possession of marijuana. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on US Highway 90 in Bayou Vista near Anthony Street. While speaking with the occupants, the deputy smelled the strong odor of marijuana. The deputy conducted a search of the vehicle and located loose marijuana and a partially burnt marijuana cigarette. During the investigation, the deputy found evidence that the marijuana belonged to Thomas who was a passenger in the vehicle. Thomas was released on a summons to appear in court on July 10, 2017.

 

Christopher Percle, 18, 1206 Clements Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on April 15, 2017 at 2:59 am for 3 counts simple burglary and vagrancy. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a male subject rummaging through a plastic container in a vacant parking lot. The deputy stopped to speak with the subject and identified him as Percle. While speaking with him, the deputy collected evidence that the items Percle had were stolen. Through investigation, the deputy found that Percle stole a bicycle from a residence on Highway 182 and stole a wallet and plastic container and tools from unlocked vehicles at residences on Southwest Road and Seventy-Nine Pines Lane. The items were returned to the owners. Percle was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Travis Levine, 46, 191 Eves Street, Sorrel, LA was arrested on April 15, 2017 at 6:46 pm for criminal damage to property and criminal trespass. A deputy responded to a report of property damage at a residence in Sorrel. During the investigation, the deputy collected evidence that Levine went onto private property and damaged a mobile home during an argument with the resident. Levine was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Levine was released on a summons to appear in court on July 10, 2017.

 

Cotina Batiste-Walton, 34, 203 Prairie Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on April 16, 2017 at 6:20 pm on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer located the active warrant for her arrest. Bail on the warrant is set at $750.
