Arrest Report - April 13, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that the Narcotics Section made the following arrests: 

Fallon Cannon, 35, 426 Tiffany Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on April 12, 20147 at 11:19 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana)
  • Possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule III (Bunavail)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Transactions involving drug proceeds
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone) 

St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section detectives conducted a search warrant at 426 Tiffany Street, the residence of Cannon. During the search detectives located marijuana, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, Bunavail patches, a digital scale, and over $8,500 in cash. Detectives found evidence that Cannon was selling the drugs and that the cash was derived from those illegal sales. The residence is located within 2,000 feet of a church. Cannon was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Alan Harding, 25, 113 Robicheaux Lane, Verdunville, LA was arrested on April 13, 2017 at 12:29 am for the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of minors
  • Illegal possession of stolen firearms 

Detectives of the Narcotics Section began an investigation into illegal drug activity after observing a music video posted by Harding on Facebook. The video depicts Harding with marijuana and guns. Detectives conducted a search warrant at his residence and located several bags of marijuana, a handgun that was reported stolen, and items of drug paraphernalia. Three young children were at the residence at the time of the investigation. Detectives also found evidence that Harding was selling marijuana from the residence. Harding was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

 

Harold Charles, Jr., 44, 300 Chennault Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on April 13, 2017 at 2:16 am for the following offenses:

  • Manufacturing Schedule II (crack cocaine)
  • Possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax)
  • Possession of Legend Drug (promethazine) without a prescription
  • Transactions involving drug proceeds
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
  • Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor
  • Resisting an officer by force
  • 4 warrants for failure to appear on the charges of criminal neglect of family

St. Mary Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section detectives accompanied by the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division, conducted a search warrant at 300 Chennault Street. Detectives encountered the resident, Charles, and worked to detain him pending the investigation. Charles forcefully pulled away from detectives. During the search, detectives located crack cocaine, bags of marijuana, Xanax and promethazine pills, over $650 in cash, and drug paraphernalia. Detectives also located a measuring cup and whisks that had crack cocaine residue on them. A juvenile was in the residence at the time of the investigation. There is a school located within 2,000 feet of the residence. Charles was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking where he was also charged on the outstanding warrants. No bail is set.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Sam Maranto, 42, 102 Wembley Road, Lafayette, LA was arrested on April 12, 2017 at 11:33 am for speeding (construction zone) and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A deputy patrolling Highway 90 in the Patterson area observed a vehicle 67 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour construction zone. The deputy spoke with the driver, identified as Maranto, and found that he was driving with a suspended license. Maranto was released on a summons to appear in court on July 10, 2017.

 

Michael Jack, 45, 1146 LA Highway 83 Ashton, LA was arrested on April 12, 2017 at 12:10 pm for disturbing the peace (intoxicated). Deputies responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence in Ashton. Deputies encountered Jack inside the home and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. Deputies also observed that Jack was slurring his words as he spoke. Jack was identified as the subject causing the disturbance and was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. He was later released on a summons to appear in court on July 10, 2017.

 

Demetre K. Mitchell, 24, 119 Caesar Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on April 12, 2017 at 12:19 pm on a Chitimacha Tribal Police Department warrant for simple burglary and criminal trespass. A deputy located Mitchell on Penn Road South in the Ashton area on the warrant. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Mitchell was released after posting a $3,000 bond.

 

Andrea Smathers, 25, 909 Prairie Road North, Centerville, LA was arrested on April 12, 2017 at 4:11 pm for hit and run driving. On April 9, 2017, a deputy responded to a report of property damage to a fence at a business on Irish Bend Road. The deputy found evidence that the fence was struck by a vehicle and identified the driver as Smathers. The deputy located Smathers at her residence. Following the investigation, Smathers was released on a summons to appear in court on July 10, 2017.

 

Bianca Prince, 25, 427 Ninth Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on April 12, 2017 at 6:06 pm on a warrant for failure to appear as a witness. Prince was located at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. She was released on a $500 bond.

 

Brooks Pizzolato, 31, 155 Martin Road, Centerville, LA was arrested on April 13, 2017 at 3:30 am for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and improper lane usage. A deputy traveling on Highway 90 in the Patterson area observed a vehicle swerve over the centerline and fog line several times and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Pizzolato, and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. The deputy performed a standardized field sobriety test. Pizzolato conducted the test poorly. He later registered a 0.089g% blood alcohol concentration. Pizzolato was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
