Arrest Report - April 6, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Irvin Phillips, Jr., 31, 180 Pine Bayou Circle, Monroe, LA was arrested on April 5, 2017 at 1:37 am for the following offenses:

  • License plate light required
  • Operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license
  • Resisting an officer
  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana)
  • Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine)       

A deputy observed a vehicle with no license plate light traveling on Chatsworth Road in Franklin and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, Phillips, the deputy observed suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. The deputy received consent to search the car and located marijuana and methamphetamine. Phillips then fled on foot. The deputy gave verbal commands to Phillips to stop. Phillips complied and was taken into custody. The deputy also found that Phillips was driving the car with a suspended license. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

Austin Williams, 17, Patterson, LA was arrested on April 6, 2017 at 1:53 am for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and on a St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for aggravated burglary.

Lacey Yates, 33, Pecan Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on April 6, 2017 at 1:19 am on a warrant for cruelty to juveniles and 2 counts simple battery.

A deputy observed a vehicle traveling on US Highway 90 with no rear lights and conducted a traffic stop on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Morgan City. The deputy made contact with the driver and passenger, identified as Yates and Williams, and located active warrants for both subjects. While speaking with them, the deputy also smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and subsequently found a marijuana cigarette in an ashtray. The warrant for Yates was issued following an investigation into a reported battery at a residence in Patterson. The deputy collected evidence that Yates struck 2 juveniles during an argument. Yates and Williams were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement for booking. No bail is set.

Nathan L. Jones, 26, 1503 Weber Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on April 5, 2017 at 4:55 pm for entering contraband into a penal institution and malfeasance in office. Detectives of the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Section conducted an investigation after receiving information that a correctional officer was suspected of bringing contraband into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. During their inquiry, detectives collected evidence that Jones, a correctional officer, smuggled contraband into the facility. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and transported to another facility for housing. No bail is set.

Kayla Hurry, 22, 122 Noe Street, Pierre Part, LA was arrested on April 5, 2017 at 12:44 pm on a Baldwin Police Department warrant for failure to appear on the charges of careless operation of a vehicle and driving without a license. A deputy arrested Hurry at the Morgan City Police Department and transported her to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Hurry was later transferred to the Baldwin police Department.

Cora Bogan, 67, 1217 James Street, Siracusa, LA was arrested on April 5, 2017 at 12:18 pm on a 2005 warrant for failure to appear on the charge of failure to use child restraint and direct contempt. A deputy came into contact with Bogan at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City and located the active warrant for her arrest. Bogan was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bogan was released on a $268.50 bond.

Ricky Cheramie, 41, 20658 Highway 1, Golden Meadow, LA was arrested on April 5, 2017 at 12:03 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of methamphetamine. Cheramie was transported by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Bail is set at $5,000.

 

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that the Narcotics Section made the following arrests: 

Shawn Scully, 42, 2300 LA 70 North Lot #LT14, Morgan City, LA was arrested on April 5, 2017 at 6:18 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana)
  • Possession of Schedule II (Adderall) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of general speed law and driving with a suspended license

Michelle Lanclos, 30, 2300 LA 70 North Lot #LT14, Morgan City, LA was arrested on April 5, 2017 at 6:18 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana)
  • Possession of Schedule IV (Tramadol)
  • Possession of Schedule II (Adderall)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section conducted a search warrant at the above listed address. Detectives located marijuana, digital scales, rolling papers, glass pipes, crushed Tramadol pills, and Adderall pills of varying milligrams. Through investigation, detectives found evidence that Scully sold the Adderall pills. Scully was also wanted on a warrant. Scully and Lanclos were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

Trey Presley, 35, 2300 LA Highway 70, #252, Morgan City, LA was arrested on April 5, 2017 at 7:17 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Christy Stewart, 40, 2300 LA Highway 70 #252, Morgan City, LA was arrested on April 5, 2017 at 7:17 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives investigating suspected illegal narcotics activity at the residence spoke with Presley and Stewart and learned that they smoked marijuana. Detectives located marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia. Presley and Stewart were released on summonses to appear in court on July 10, 2017.
