Arrest Report- February 13, 2017

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 99 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

 Gregory O’Howell, 40, 303 West Merrell Ave, Meralto CA, was arrested on February 10, 2017 at 11:59am on the following St. Mary Parish warrants:

-Warrant for Violation of Probation on charges of Driving while intoxicated

-Warrant for Criminal Trespass and Aggravated Battery

-Warrant for Possession of Stolen Things

-Warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

A deputy patrolling the Amelia area located O’Howell at a residence on Village Ln. He was arrested and transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Shawn Robinson, 23, 282 Eves St, Jeanerette LA, was arrested on February 10, 2017 at 12:26pm for speeding and driving under suspension. A deputy conducting radar operations found Robinson to be speeding in a construction zone. During the subsequent stop, the deputy learned that Robinson’s license was suspended. He was arrested and later released on a summons to appear in court on May 10, 2017.  

 

Edward Stanley, 61, 1314 Memory Ln, Houma LA, was arrested on February 10, 2017 at 1:11pm on a warrant issued in St. Mary Parish. The warrant was for charges of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic (Hydrocodone) and Possession of a Schedule IV Narcotic (Xanax). Stanely was transported from Terrebonne Parish, where he was being held, to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. Bail is set at $3,000.

 

Kane Smith, 19, 1600 Maple St, Morgan City LA, was arrested on February 11, 2017 at 1:59am on the following charges: 

-Improper lane usage

-Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute

-Possession of Klonopin with intent to distribute

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

-Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

-Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Law- Drug Free Zone

Deputies patrolling the Berwick area observed a vehicle cross the center line of a roadway. A traffic stop was conducted on Burchfield Ln and deputies made contact with the driver, Smith. A search of the vehicle followed. Deputies located marijuana, klonopin, baggies, a digital scale and a Ruger .380 pistol. Smith was arrested and transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Tarlton Nico, 58, 4702 Plantation Village, New Iberia LA, was arrested on February 11, 2017 at 9:53am for a warrant for failing to appear to court to answer charges of driving under suspension and failing to report an accident. A deputy located Nico at a residence on Lockette Rd #2 in Jeanerette. After learning of the active warrant for his arrest, the deputy arrested Nico and transported him to the parish jail. Nico was released after posting a $1,000 bond amount.

 

Cecilia Forteza, 52, 303 Union St, Morgan City LA, was arrested on February 12, 2017 at 3:22am on charges of careless operation with a crash and driving while intoxicated. Deputies responded to a report of a crash on Highway 90 in the Bayou Vista area. Deputies made contact with the driver of one of the vehicles involved, Forteza. Investigating deputies learned that Forteza left her lane of travel and collided with another vehicle in the opposite lane. Forteza was arrested for careless operation and driving while intoxicated. She was later released with a court date of May 10, 2017.

 

Colby Spain, 33, 416 Robertson St, Franklin LA, was arrested on February 12, 2017 at 3:00am for driving while intoxicated, open container, improper lane usage and driving under suspension. Deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to reckless driver complaint on the Highway in the Franklin area. Deputies learned that the reckless driver had run a Chitimacha Police Officer off the roadway. The vehicle was observed swerving in and out of its lane of travel. Deputies made contact with the driver, Spain, and conducted a standardized field sobriety test. The responding deputy arrested Spain and later learned that his driver’s license was suspended. During a subsequent search of his vehicle, deputies located open containers of alcohol. Spain was transported to the parish jail for booking. Spain was later released after posting a $4,500 bond amount.

 

Melissa Adams, 38, 222 Haney St, Patterson LA, was arrested on February 12, 2017 at 2:31pm on a warrant for Possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies patrolling the Patterson area located Adams at her residence on Haney St after learning of the active warrant for her arrest. Adams was arrested and transported to the parish jail for booking. She was later released on a summons to appear to court on May 10, 2017.

 

Marvin Machado, 36, 111 Chirpy’s Ln, Amelia LA, was arrested on February 12, 2017 at 7:04pm for driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, open container, and no driver’s license. Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Lake Palourde Rd in Amelia. During the investigation, they made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Machado. The investigating deputy learned that Machado had exited his vehicle after the crash with an open container of alcohol in his hand. The deputy conducted a standardized field sobriety test and later arrested Machado. During the investigation the deputy learned that Machado did not have a driver’s license. Machado was taken to the Morgan City Police Department for chemical testing where he provided a breath sample of .273g% blood alcohol content. Machado was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released after posting a bond amount of $3,500.
