Arrest Report - January 17, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the holiday weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 138 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Lonnie M. Florence, 26, Cypress Lane, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on January 13, 2017 at 3:05 pm for 2 counts of unauthorized use of an access card. A detective investigating the complaint found evidence that Florence used the victim’s credit card without the victim’s permission to make 2 separate purchases at a store in Bayou Vista. The victim knew Florence. The purchases totaled just over $165. Florence was released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.

 

Jorge Cordova, 33, 738 Duval Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 13, 2017 at 11:33 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a report of domestic abuse at a residence in Amelia. The deputy spoke with several subjects at the residence and collected evidence that Cordova repeatedly punched a female victim in the face and head. Cordova then kicked her several times. The victim was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment. The deputy transported Cordova to the parish jail for booking. Cordova was released after posting a $2,500 bond.

 

Minus J. Boiteaux, 44, 591 Prairie Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 14, 2017 at 12:56 am for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. A deputy patrolling Centerville observed a vehicle blocking Highway 317. The deputy found the driver, later identified as Boiteaux, asleep at the wheel. The deputy made contact with Boiteaux and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Boiteaux performed poorly on a field sobriety test and later registered a 0.182g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. Boiteaux was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond.

 

Jimmy R. Billiot, Sr., 43, 831 Degravelle Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 14, 2017 at 2:50 am for sexual battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a business on Highway 182 in Amelia. During the investigation, the deputy found evidence that Billiot grabbed a male victim’s buttocks without the victim’s consent. Billiot was transported to the parish jail for booking. Billiot was released after posting a $750 bond.

 

Damien Keller, 33, 313 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 14, 2017 at 2:50 am on a warrant for theft of goods and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of no motor vehicle insurance, driving with a suspended license, and failure to secure vehicle registration. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista made contact with Keller and located the active warrants for his arrest. The warrant for theft was obtained following an investigation into a complaint of shoplifting from a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy collected evidence that Keller stole a DVD player. Keller was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $3,250.

 

Michael Talbert, 27, 812 Tall Timbers Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 14, 2017 at 9:28 am for possession of marijuana. A deputy investigating a 2 vehicle crash on US Highway 90 near LA Highway 318 located marijuana inside one of the vehicles. The deputy found evidence that the illegal substance belonged to Talbert, the driver of the vehicle. Talbert was released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.

 

Donald R. Brown, Jr., 33, 411 Samson Street, Abbeville, LA was arrested on January 14, 2017 at 8:55 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of monetary instrument abuse. A deputy received information regarding Brown’s whereabouts and located him on Marguerite Street in Morgan City on the warrant. Brown was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $50,000.  

 

Michael A. Jackson, 29, 167 Parro Lane, Berwick, LA was arrested on January 14, 2017 at 11:12 pm for second degree battery domestic violence. A deputy responding to a medical emergency at a business on Highway 182 in Bayou Vista received information that the female victim’s injuries were the result of domestic abuse. During the investigation, the deputy collected evidence that Jackson lifted up the female victim and threw her to the ground. The victim was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment. Jackson was located at his residence and subsequently transported to the parish jail for booking. Jackson was released after posting a $2,500 bond.

 

Corey Leblanc, 35, 133 Lagonda Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 15, 2017 at 1:41 am for burglary of an inhabited dwelling. Deputies responded to a burglary in progress on Highway 182 in Bayou Vista. When deputies arrived, they developed a description of the suspect and the suspect’s direction of travel. Deputies located a subject matching the description of the suspect inside a residence on Lagonda Road. Through the course of the investigation, the subject, identified as Leblanc, was positively identified as the suspect in the burglary. Deputies found evidence that Leblanc entered the residence and stole the victim’s purse. Deputies recovered the purse and returned it to the owner. Leblanc was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Stacy Burnett, 33, 116 Camie Lane, Cypremort Point, LA was arrested on January 16, 2017 at 10:21 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. A deputy responding to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Camie Lane made contact with Burnett and located the active warrant for her arrest. The deputy transported Burnett to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Toby Adams, 38, 2109 Chatsworth Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 16, 2017 at 10:09 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Adams turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin after learning of the warrant for his arrest. A deputy transported Adams to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $5,045.58.

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

 

Ulysses Lumpkin, Jr., 51, 4001 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, LA was arrested on January 13, 2017 at 2:56 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of crack cocaine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
  • Obstruction of justice

Tyrusha R. Charles, 35, 1256 Martin Luther King Road, Charenton, LA was arrested on January 13, 2017 at 2:56 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute
  • Distribution of crack cocaine
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)

Carol Bowie, 54, 1350 Martin Luther King Road, Charenton, LA was arrested on January 13, 2017 at 2:56 pm for the following offenses: 

  • Possession of crack cocaine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
  • Obstruction of justice

Investigating complaints of illegal drug activity in the area, detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section made contact with 3 subjects parked in 2 vehicles on Martin Luther King Road. The subjects were identified as Lumpkin, Bowie, and Charles. While speaking with them, detectives observed Lumpkin and Bowie drop pipes containing crack cocaine to the ground. During the subsequent investigation, detectives found evidence that Charles sold the crack cocaine to Bowie. Detectives also located marijuana and additional cocaine belonging to Charles. All three suspects were transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail for Charles is set at $20,000. No bail is set for Bowie or Lumpkin.
