Arrest Report - January 6, 2017

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

 

Jacob T. Bergeron, 37, 240 Palm Avenue, Houma, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 12:21 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A correctional officer transported Bergeron from the Lafourche Parish detention center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bail is set at $1,912.61.

 

Abraham Gilbert, Jr., 38, 721 Wattigny Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 3:39 pm on an Iberia Parish warrant for probation violation. A deputy located Gilbert at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin on the warrant and transported him to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Johnathan Miller, 37, 210 East Lawrence Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 10:10 pm for the following offenses:

  • Improper lane usage
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of Schedule II (hydrocodone)
  • Possession of Legend Drug (tizanidine) without a prescription

A deputy driving on Highway 90 in Morgan City observed a vehicle traveling from lane to lane without signaling the maneuvers. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, identified as Miller. A Morgan City Police Officer arrived to assist in the traffic stop. While speaking with Miller, the deputy received consent to search the vehicle. As the deputy conducted the search, the officer observed Miller drop a glass pipe to the ground. The item was recovered. The deputy found hydrocodone and tizanidine pills inside the vehicle. Miller was unable to provide a prescription for the drugs. The deputy also collected evidence that Miller had used the pipe to consume methamphetamine. Miller was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Saysha Ardoin, 21, 189 Easy Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 10:50 pm for tail lights required and driving under suspension. Deputies on Irish Bend Road in Franklin observed a vehicle with an unlit tail light and conducted a traffic stop. Deputies spoke with the driver, Ardoin, and found that her driver’ license was listed as suspended. Ardoin was released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.

 

James Johnson, 68, 516 Robertson Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 6, 2017 at 1:20 am for the following offenses:

  • Failure to signal 100 feet prior to an intersection
  • No driver’s license
  • No motor vehicle insurance
  • No proof of registration in vehicle

A deputy observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn onto Highway 83 in Baldwin and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy spoke with the driver, who was identified as Johnson, and found that he was operating the vehicle without a driver’s license, without insurance, and without proof of registration in the vehicle. Johnson was released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.

 

Justin Scarbrough, 25, 1232 Delmar Avenue, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 6, 2017 at 3:59 am on a warrant for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a request to remove a subject from a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. The deputy located the subject, identified as Scarbrough, on Arlington Street and located the active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was obtained following a January 1, 2017 investigation into a report of a disturbance at a residence in Bayou Vista. The deputy dispatched to the scene collected evidence that Scarbrough and a female subject were involved in an argument when Scarbrough grabbed the female victim and pushed her. Scarbrough was transported to the parish jail for booking.

 

Bryce J. Tabor, 22, 105 Hendricks Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 6, 2017 at 4:34 am for the following offenses:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated
  • Improper lane usage
  • No driver’s license on person
  • No proof of registration in vehicle
  • No proof of insurance
  • Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of cyberstalking
  • Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of cyberstalking and telephone harassment
  • Warrant from the Morgan City Police Department for possession of Schedule I with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)

While investigating a separate complaint, a deputy observed a vehicle swerve over the fog line and onto the shoulder of Highway 90 in the Patterson area. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Tabor. While speaking with Tabor, the deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person and observed that Tabor had slurred speech. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test. Tabor performed the test poorly. He later registered a 0.163g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. During the investigation, the deputy also located multiple active warrants for Tabor’s arrest. He was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

 

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

 

Leeanne Stephens, 34, 300 Main Street, Apt. #10, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 4:59 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Cody White, 23, 300 Main Street Apt. #10, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 4:59 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Narcotics detectives investigating a complaint went to White and Stephens’ residence. Detectives made contact with Stephens and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the apartment. Detectives received consent to search the location and found marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia including pipes used to smoke the substance and a grinder. During the investigation, White arrived at the residence. Detectives collected evidence that the marijuana and drug paraphernalia belonged to both subjects. White and Stephens were released on summonses to appear in court on April 5, 2017.

 

Jalen Allen, 24, 1325 Federal Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 5:29 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana).

 

Ryan P. Stratton, 21, 321 Highway 182 #1, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 5:29 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana).

 

Joseph Johnson, 25, 1309 Eighth Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 5:29 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana).

 

Narcotics detectives were called to assist a Morgan City Police Officer who detained 3 subjects in Berwick after smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle the subjects were in. Detectives collected evidence that the subjects, Allen, Stratton, and Johnson, were smoking marijuana inside the vehicle and located a burnt marijuana cigar inside. Allen, Stratton, and Johnson were released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.

 

Heather Anderson, 31, 110 Gibson Gardens, Gibson, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 7:44 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Jerrence C. Ford, 28, 107 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 7:40 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of distribution of cocaine.

 

Narcotics detectives patrolling Amelia observed a vehicle without a license plate light and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Anderson. While speaking with the occupants, detectives located an active warrant for a passenger who was identified as Ford. As the investigation progressed, detectives located marijuana and a grinder in the Anderson’s purse. Ford and Anderson were released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.
