St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
David J. Allen, 27, 611 General Patton Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 4, 2017 at 8:44 pm for the following offenses:
- Obstruction of justice
- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Transactions involving drug proceeds
Darren J. Jackson, 32, 104 Todd Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 4, 2017 at 8:44 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana.
Guyla S. Bliss, 48, 1050 Tower Tank Road, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 4, 2017 at 8:44 pm for possession of marijuana.
Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section along with members of the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division were patrolling Bayou Vista. While at the intersection of Highway 182 and Southeast Boulevard, detectives observed a hand to hand transaction between a female subject and 2 male subjects who were seated inside a vehicle in a parking lot. Detectives had received multiple complaints of possible illegal drug activity at that location. Detectives made contact with the subjects and identified them as Bliss, Allen, and Jackson. While speaking with them, a detective observed Allen attempt to conceal an item near his feet inside the truck. Allen was ordered to exit the vehicle. As Allen got out of the truck, a detective saw him drop a plastic bag containing shards of methamphetamine to ground. The detective then observed Allen attempt to step on the bag. During the subsequent investigation, detectives located a marijuana cigarette on Bliss and a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine on Jackson. Detectives also located an active warrant for Jackson. During a search of the truck, detectives found a bag containing methamphetamine residue and several burnt marijuana cigarettes. Detectives then located $300 in cash in Allen’s pocket. The money is suspected of being derived from the sale of illegal drugs. Bliss was released on a summons to appear court on April 5, 2017. Allen and Jackson were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Earl Pyle, Jr., 36, 406 Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 4, 2017 at 12:59 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. A correctional officer located the active warrant for Pyle who was already incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and booked him on the charge. Bail on the charge is set at $50,000.
Andrew Wiersma, 40, 447 Highway 182, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 4, 2017 at 5:53 pm for theft. A deputy investigating a complaint of theft collected evidence that Wiersma made unauthorized charges to the company he worked for in Bayou Vista at 2 hardware stores in Morgan City and Houma. The signed invoices totaled over $600. Wiersma was transported to the parish jail for booking. Wiersma was released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.
Rachel Killingsworth, 23, 728 Victoria Riverside Road, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 12:50 am for careless operation of a vehicle with a crash, no driver’s license, and possession of marijuana. Deputies working a single vehicle crash on Zenor Road near Victoria Riverside Road in Patterson identified Killingsworth as the driver of the car. A deputy located Killingsworth at her residence. The deputy spoke with her and learned that Killingsworth lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch. The deputy also found that Killingsworth was operating the vehicle without a license. While inside Killingsworth’s residence, the deputy observed 3 burnt marijuana cigarettes. Following the investigation, Killingsworth was released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.
Donald Mcbride, 44, 110 Picou Road, Houma, LA was arrested on January 5, 2017 at 4:08 am for possession of cocaine. A deputy patrolling Amelia observed a vehicle parked beneath the Highway 182 bridge. As the deputy approached the vehicle, it began to slowly drive away. The deputy stopped the vehicle, made contact with the driver, and identified him as Mcbride. While speaking with Mcbride, the deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located a small plastic bag containing a small amount of cocaine. Mcbride was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
