Arrest Report - November 17, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 30 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Robert Robertson, 47, 821 Henkle Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on November 16, 2016 at 9:15 am for maximum speed limit violation (in a construction zone) and driving with a suspended license. A deputy travelling on Highway 90 in Jeanerette observed a vehicle speeding 69 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour construction zone. The deputy stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, identified as Robertson. The deputy found that Robertson’s license was listed as suspended. Robertson was released on a summons to appear in court on February 3, 2017.

 

Kevin D. Bertrand, 47, 6726 Highway 182, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 16, 2016 at 3:28 pm for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and improper lane usage. A deputy conducted a stop on a vehicle on Highway 90 in the Patterson area after observing the truck swerving onto the shoulder of the roadway. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Bertrand, and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test. Bertrand performed the test poorly. He later registered a 0.102g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. Bertrand was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a $2,750 bond.

 

Jesse Landry, Sr., 26, 146 Big Bear Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 16, 2016 at 12:30 pm on a warrant for domestic abuse battery. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Section located Landry at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin. The warrant was issued following an investigation into a complaint of a battery that occurred in October at a residence in the Franklin area. The deputy collected evidence that Landry grabbed a female victim and pushed her into a wall causing bruises to her arms and a laceration to her face. Landry was transported to the parish jail for booking. Landry was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Jason King, 31, 238 Lake Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 16, 2016 at 12:42 pm on a Justice of the Peace warrant for trespassing and criminal damage to property. King turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. He was released on a summons to appear in court on February 3, 2017.

 

Roneshia Colbert, 25, 113 Colbert Lane, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on November 16, 2016 at 7:16 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy investigating a complaint on Colbert Lane made contact with Colbert and located the active warrant for her arrest. Colbert was transported to the parish jail for booking. She was released on a $380 bond.

 

Justin D. Price, 27, 515 General MacArthur Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on November 16, 2016 at 10:09 pm for the following offenses:

  • No motor vehicle insurance
  • Driving under suspension
  • Proper vehicle equipment required
  • No turn signal
  • No seatbelt
  • Expired motor vehicle inspection
  • Expired license plate

A deputy responded to a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 90 in Ricohoc. During the investigation, the deputy found that one of the driver’s, identified as Price, was operating the vehicle without insurance and with a suspended license. The deputy also observed multiple motor vehicle violations and collected evidence that Price failed to properly signal a turn. Price was released on a summons to appear in court on February 3, 2017.
