According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 28 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Brandon Willis, 34, 200 Merchant Boulevard, Lafayette, LA was arrested on November 3, 2016 at 1:40 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving with a suspended license and no tail lights. While booking Willis at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer located the active warrant for his arrest. Bail is set at $10,000.
Rebecca Bacas, 41, 10614 Highway 14, Delcambre, LA was arrested on November 3, 2016 at 2:16 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks. Bacas was transported from the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Bacas was released on a $1,500 bond.
Jacoby Paul, 27, 118 Batiste Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on November 3, 2016 at 2:51 pm on a warrant for the following offenses:
- False imprisonment
- Second degree kidnapping
- Aggravated burglary
- Home invasion
- Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax) with intent to distribute
- Possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute
- Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute
- Possession of Schedule II (Lortab) with intent to distribute

Detectives continuing the investigation into the home invasion identified Paul as a second suspect in the crime. Detectives obtained search warrants for Paul and Anderson’s residence on Batiste Street. Inside the residence, detectives located several items that were stolen from the victim. Detectives located the crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and other drugs hidden inside the vehicle. The drug possession charges have also been filed against Anderson. Paul was taken into custody on the warrant at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin and transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. The investigation is ongoing.
