Arrest Report September 8, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to122 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jason J. Mathews, 33, 178 Friendship Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on September 5, 2014 at 7:23 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy responding to a complaint at a residence on Kelly Pellerin Lane in Verdunville made contact with Mathews and discovered that he was wanted on the active warrant. The deputy transported Mathews to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $5,603.38.

Audwin Williams, Sr., 35, 328 Third Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 5, 2014 at 1:04 pm on three warrants for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a deputy learned that Williams held three active warrants on the charges listed above. No bail is set.

Phillip Jones Jr.
, 26, 6307 Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, LA was arrested on September, 5, 2014 at 4:01 pm for speeding and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed vehicle speeding on James Street and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Jones. During the traffic stop, the deputy learned of the active warrant for Jones' arrest. The deputy transported Jones to the parish jail for booking. Jones was released on a $1,000 bond.


Lisa Guerrero
, 32, 276 Vivian Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 5, 2014 at 8:35 pm for domestic abuse battery and on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of probation. A deputy working a security detail at the Amelia Recreation Center observed a woman yelling while approaching a juvenile male in the playground area of the facility. The woman then began striking the juvenile. The deputy responded, stopping the woman. During the course of the investigation, the woman was identified as Guerrero and the juvenile’s age was found to be 14 years old. The deputy also learned that Guerrero was wanted on an active warrant. Guerrero was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.


Juvenile male, 16, Sorrell, LA was arrested on September 6, 2014 at 4:04 pm on the following offenses:

- Terrorizing

- Simple assault

- Disturbing the peace

- Retaliation by a minor against a parent, legal custodian, witness, or complainant

A deputy responded to report of an ungovernable juvenile at a residence in Sorrell. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that the juvenile made repeated threats on his guardian’s life and the lives of teachers at West St. Mary High School. The juvenile was transported to the Assumption Youth Detention Center pending juvenile court action.

 

Kevin D. Hutchings, 53, 180 W. Benton Road, Clinton, MO was arrested on September 6, 2014 at 10:52 pm for driving while intoxicated and improper lane usage. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle swerving onto the shoulder of Highway 182 and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Hutchings and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test on which Hutchings performed poorly. Hutchings later registered a 0.19g% blood alcohol concentration on the Intoxilyzor 5000 breath test. The deputy transported Hutchings to the parish jail for booking. Hutchings was later released on a $2,750 bond.

Devon Marsh, 22, 1048 Ciro Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 6, 2014 at 11:37 pm for resisting an officer (giving false information). A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area conducted a traffic stop on Southeast Boulevard on a vehicle with a headlight in need of repair. The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle who identified himself as someone else. The deputy, however, recognized the driver from a previous complaint and identified him as Devon Marsh. The deputy released Marsh on a summons to appear in court on November 24, 2014.

Travis Blanchard
, 38, 118 Moon Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on September 7, 2014 at 1:24 am for driving while intoxicated and headlamps required. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed a vehicle travelling on LA Highway 182 with no headlights or taillights on and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Blanchard, and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. The deputy also observed that Blanchard's speech was slurred. After further investigation, the deputy transported Blanchard to the parish jail for booking. Blanchard was later released on a $7,750 bond.

David Risk, 29, 513 Carol Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on September 7, 2014 at 2:34 pm for simple assault and criminal trespass. A deputy responded to a complaint of stalking at residence in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Risk continually went to the residence of a female victim despite the woman refusing to have contact with Risk. The deputy was transported to the parish jail for booking. Risk was later released on a summons to appear in court on November 24, 2014.

 

Shaqunia Harris, 20, 214 Arizona Street Apt. #4, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 7, 2014 at 2:14 pm for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of a theft at a store in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Harris, an employee of Walmart, stole $1,200 in cash from her employer. The deputy transported Harris to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set.

 

Lisa Yeager, 38, 128 Dotties Lane, Ricohoc, LA was arrested on September 7, 2014 at 10:18 pm for domestic abuse battery and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Ricohoc. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that Yeager scratched a male victim on the neck. During her arrest, Yeager attempted to pull away from the deputy. The deputy transported Yeager to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
