Arrest Report - October 3, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 112 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jamasian Guy, 26, 9616 Earl Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on October 1, 2016 at 1:59 am for driving under suspension, improper equipment, and no proof of insurance. While patrolling Baldwin, a deputy observed a vehicle with no license plate lights and conducted a traffic stop on Martin Luther King Road. The deputy spoke with the driver, identified as Guy, and found that she was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and no proof of insurance in the vehicle. Guy was released on a summons to appear in court on January 4, 2017.

 

Isiah Douse, 21, 821 Brockden Drive, Mesquite, TX was arrested on October 1, 2016 at 3:25 am for the following offenses:

- License plate light required

- Possession of Schedule I (marijuana)

- Possession of drug paraphernalia

- Warrant from Dallas County, TX for probation violation

 

Bobby Bolden, 26, 15643 Dancing Drive, Dallas, TX was arrested on October 1, 2016 at 3:18 am for possession of (open) alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

A deputy observed a vehicle with no license plate lights traveling on Highway 182 in Centerville and conducted a traffic stop near Cane Road. The deputy made contact with the driver, Douse, and passenger, Bolden. While speaking with them, the deputy smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The deputy located several marijuana cigarettes, a marijuana cigar, a pack of cigars, plastic baggies, and pieces of marijuana inside the vehicle. There was also an open container of liquor in the car. As the investigation progressed, the deputy located an active warrant for Douse’s arrest out of Dallas County. Bolden was released on a summons to appear in court on January 4, 2017. Douse was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Kaitlynn A. Spradling, 17, 1204 Fifth Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 1, 2016 at 8:28 am for maximum speed limit violation. A deputy traveling on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista observed a vehicle traveling at 81 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Spradling. Following the traffic stop investigation, Spradling was released on a summons to appear in court on January 4, 2017.

 

Michael Torres, 25, 709 Gabriel Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 1, 2016 at 12:58 pm on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Torres was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and booked on the warrant. Bail is set at $100,000.

 

Lucretia L. Sanders, 32, 334 Prairie Road North, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 1, 2016 at 9:25 pm on 2 warrants for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension and issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Sanders on Northwest Boulevard in Franklin on the warrants and transported her to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Russell Toups, Jr., 42, 607 Liberty Street, Houma, LA was arrested on October 2, 2016 at 12:29 am for the following offenses:

3 counts possession of Legend Drugs (metformin, cephalexin, and enalapril)

- Possession of Schedule III (suboxone)

- Possession of Schedule II (Adderall)

- Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax)

- Possession of Schedule II (methadone)

- Possession of drug paraphernalia

- Warrant from the 32nd Judicial District for probation violation

- Warrant from Houma City Court for driving under suspension

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle parked in a parking lot off of Highway 90. The deputy made contact with 2 people in the car, Toups and a female subject. While speaking with them, the deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located several prescription pill bottles containing different types of pills. During the course of the investigation, the deputy found that Toups was in possession of the drugs but that his name did not match the names on the prescription bottles. The deputy also found syringes in the vehicle. 2 warrants for Toups were also located. The deputy transported him to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Darian Hoskins, 37, 20017 Highway 182 West, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on October 2, 2016 at 3:41 am for violation of the parish public drinking ordinance (open container on roadway) and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy investigating a complaint of a suspicious person in Sorrell made contact with Hoskins who was walking on Sorrell Road. The deputy observed a male subject with a can of beer and a cup. The deputy made contact with the subject and identified him as Hoskins. While speaking with him, the deputy received consent to search his person, and located a digital scale with small pieces of marijuana on it. Hoskins was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a summons to appear in court on January 4, 2017.

 

Craig Alexander, Sr., 34, 100 North Coulee Road, Baldwin, LA was arrested on October 2, 2016 at 3:41 am for the following offenses:

- Following too closely

- Flight from an officer

- Resisting an officer

- Possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine)

- Obstruction of justice

- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family

A deputy patrolling Sorrell observed a vehicle swerving on Highway 182. The deputy also observed the vehicle following too closely to another vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the suspect car failed to pull over and continued to swerve on the roadway. The driver then slowed the vehicle, pulled to the side of the roadway, and continued to drive at a slow rate of speed. The drive then stopped the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Alexander, and observed a plastic baggie and a white powdery substance in his lap. The deputy then observed Alexander brush some of the powder from his lap. During the course of the investigation, the deputy found that the substance was crack cocaine and located several pieces of the illegal drug. The deputy also located a warrant for Alexander’s arrest. While placing Alexander in the police unit, he repeatedly blocked the vehicle door with his feet and head. Alexander was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Austin Spillman, 18, 1715 Fern Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 2, 2016 at 11:06 pm for the following offenses:

- Illegal use of a weapon

- Disturbing the peace

- Resisting an officer

- Flight from an officer

- Hunting or discharge of firearms prohibited

 

Mark Mayon, III, 19, 167 Shady Grove Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 2, 2016 at 11:06 pm for resisting an officer.

 

A deputy responded to a call of a reported discharge of a firearm at Kemper Williams Park in Patterson. The deputy observed a pick-up truck traveling at a high rate of speed down Cotton Road and initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the truck ran the stop sign at Highway 90, crossed the roadway, and continued to travel onto Highway 182 towards Patterson. The vehicle was located parked at a business off of Highway 182. The deputy observed a dead deer in the bed of the truck and several firearms inside the vehicle. The driver and passenger had fled the scene. Due to the nature of the crime, agents of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement Division were contacted. Later in the evening, Sheriff’s deputies received information from Patterson Police that a suspect turned himself in at the Patterson Police Department. Deputies made contact with the driver, Spillman, and a passenger, Mayon. During the course of the investigation, Spillman admitted that while driving on Cotton Road he saw a deer and shot the animal. Spillman and Mayon then loaded the deer into the back of the pick-up truck and fled the area when they saw the Sheriff’s deputy. Mayon and Spillman then abandoned the truck. The deer and firearms were turned over to Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement Division agents. Both suspects were transported to the parish jail for booking. Mayon was released on a $1,000 bond. No bail is set for Spillman.

 

Seth Lovett, 29, 2328 Wilson Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 3, 2016 at 5:34 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy investigating a separate complaint, made contact with Lovett at his residence and located the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Lovett to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
