Arrest Report - September 28, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 29 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Dontreal R. Merritt, 32, 1426 Live Oak Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on September 27, 2016 at 9:23 am on a warrant for failure to appear for a drug court status conference. A deputy transported Merritt from the Patterson Police Department where she was being detained on the warrant. Merritt was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $100,000.

 

Markeisha Hamilton, 22, 1404 A Hospital Avenue, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 27, 2016 at 1:24 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting) and on warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of probation and failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods.

 

Joy Hamilton, 43, 1404 A Hospital Avenue, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 27, 2016 at 1:24 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting).

 

Chalon Poole, 32, 528 Orange Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 27, 2016 at 1:56 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting).

 

Stephanie Joseph, 50, 206 Mallard Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 27, 2016 at 1:56 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting).

 

Heather Hamilton, 19, 206 Mallard Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 27, 2016 at 1:56 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting).

 

Deputies responded to a report of a fight at a location in the 7000 block of Highway 182 in Centerville. During the course of the investigation, deputies spoke with several subjects and found evidence that they were all involved in a physical altercation. M. Hamilton, J. Hamilton, Poole, Joseph, and H. Hamilton were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set for M. Hamilton. J. Hamilton, Poole, Joseph, and H. Hamilton were released on summonses to appear in court on December 14, 2016.

 

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

 

Jovian Clark, 35, 168 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA was arrested on September 27, 2016 at 5:31 pm for resisting an officer, possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids), and abuse of toxic vapors.

 

Melvin Thibodeaux, 47, 1423 James Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 27, 2016 at 5:31 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Deputies were dispatched to a report of a suspicious subject who appeared to be in an intoxicated state on Friendship Alley in Amelia. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section also responded to the complaint. Deputies and detectives encountered 2 male subjects. One of the subjects, later identified as Thibodeaux, was laying on the ground. The other subject was walking in the roadway. As detectives approached, Thibodeaux got up and discarded an item. The other subject, later identified as Clark, fled from detectives on foot after being ordered to stop several times. Both Clark and Thibodeaux were detained pending further investigation. Detectives located the item discarded by Thibodeaux and found that it was a glass pipe containing copper wool that is suspected of being used to smoke illegal substances. Detectives received consent to search Clark and found a small bag of synthetic marijuana. Thibodeaux was released on a summons to appear in court on December 14, 2016. Clark was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a $3,000 bond.

 

Gregory S. Free, 32, 1701 River Road, Berwick, LA was arrested on September 27, 2016 at 7:04 pm on a warrant for monetary instrument abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. The warrant for Free was obtained after detectives conducted a search warrant at 2945 Railroad Avenue in Morgan City. Detectives located a needle suspected of being used to inject methamphetamine, in one of Free’s pockets. Several counterfeit $100 bills were also located during the search. Detectives found evidence that the fake money belonged in part to Free. Free was located at his residence on the warrant and transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
