Arrest Report - September 13, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 45 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Demetrius Green, 27, 428 Mike Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on September 12, 2016 at 7:40 am for domestic abuse battery. Deputies responded to a report of a fight between a man and a woman on Highway 182 near Cotton Road in the Patterson area. Deputies made contact with the two subjects. The man was identified as Green. During the course of the investigation, deputies found evidence that Green pushed the female victim. Green was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Rodney Granger, 22, 123 Tiger Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 12, 2016 at 9:46 am for reckless operation of a vehicle, flight from an officer, and off road vehicles on a public roadway prohibited. A deputy patrolling Verdunville observed a man riding a four-wheeler on Verdun Lane at a high rate of speed. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on Prairie Road North. The subject on the 4-wheeler accelerated and drove off of the roadway fleeing from the police unit. A second deputy in the area observed the suspect park the ATV behind a house. Deputies made contact with the suspect, identified as Granger, walking in a nearby field. Following an investigation, Granger was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Jermoud Watts, 26, Siracusa, LA was additionally charged with obscenity on September 12, 2016 at 11:40 am. A correctional officer observed inmate Watts expose his genitals to a member of the facility’s medical staff. Watts remains incarcerated with no bail set.

 

Barry A. Jones, Jr., 29, 136 Georgetown Lane, Glencoe, LA was arrested on September 12, 2016 at 12:49 pm on a warrant from Franklin City Court for failure to appear on the charge of criminal damage to property. While investigating a separate incident, deputies made contact with Jones at his residence and located the active warrant for his arrest. Jones was transported to the parish jail for booking. The warrant was recalled and Jones was released.

 

Eldridge Gibson, III, 28, 129 Collins Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on September 12, 2016 at 1:32 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal trespassing. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Division was contacted by a Baldwin Police officer who had detained Gibson on the active warrant. The deputy transported Gibson from the Baldwin Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bail is set at $1,000.

 

Curstone Alfred, 40, 1123 Highway 318, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on September 12, 2016 at 2:09 pm on a warrant for flight from an officer, resisting an officer, improper equipment, and no motor vehicle insurance. While patrolling Four Corners on August 11, 2016, a deputy observed a vehicle with only one working headlight and initiated a traffic stop on Highway 318. The driver turned into a driveway. The driver then got out of the moving vehicle and fled on foot. The vehicle continued to travel striking a residence. Deputies secured the car. None of the occupants of the home reported any injuries. The vehicle caused minor damage to the house. The investigating deputy identified the driver of the vehicle as Alfred and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Alfred was located at his residence on the warrant. He was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Clyde Mitchell, 40, 144 Bray Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 12, 2016 at 3:13 pm for possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies and illegal possession of a stolen firearm. On September 5, 2016, deputies responded to a 911 call that a gun was being fired near the intersection of Pickett Lane and Gumpoint Lane in St. Joseph. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Mitchell and located a handgun nearby. Deputies found that the firearm had been reported stolen out of Iberia Parish. During the course of the investigation, the detective working the case found evidence that Mitchell was in possession of the stolen weapon and that Mitchell was a convicted felon. The detective obtained a warrant for his arrest. Mitchell turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. He was released on a $5,000 bond. The complaint of the reported shooting remains under investigation.

 

Kayla Smith, 22, 522 6th Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 12, 2016 at 8:02 pm for simple battery and criminal trespass.

 

Makayla Spain, 25, 1014 ½ Barrow Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 12, 2016 at 8:02 pm for simple battery and criminal trespass.

 

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Prairie Road North in Centerville where a fight was reportedly taking place. During the investigation into the complaint, the deputy made contact with several subjects including Smith and Spain. The deputy collected evidence that Smith and Spain went to the residence with the intent of fighting another female subject. The deputy found that Smith pulled the victim’s hair and spit on her. Spain grabbed the victim’s hair and punched her in the face. Both suspects were transported to the parish jail for booking. Both were released on $1,000 recognizance bonds.
