Arrest Report September 4, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Chris Toups, 34, 2855 First Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on September 3, 2014 at 8:32 am for careless operation of a motor vehicle and failure to report an accident. A deputy responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on River Road in Berwick. Upon arrival, the deputy located an unoccupied vehicle in a ditch. Working with Berwick Police, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Toups. During the course of the investigation, the deputy determined that Toups lost control of the vehicle, drove off of the roadway, and into the ditch. Toups then left the scene of the crash and failed to report the incident despite having the opportunity to do so. The deputy transported Toups to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Tammy Sheriden, 50, 408 Darlene Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on September 4, 2014 at 12:43 am on the following charges:

- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal mischief

- Warrant for theft of assets of an aged or disabled person

- Warrant for theft

The warrant for theft of assets of an aged or disabled person is the result of an investigation that began in December 2013 after the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of the theft of approximately $2000 in cash and several hydrocodone pills from a 56 year old victim in Patterson. A deputy received information that Sheriden was being held on the warrants at the Berwick Police department. The deputy transported Sheridan to the parish jail. No bail is set.

 

Joseph Jacobs, 26, 108 Nanoke Lane, Carencro, LA was arrested on September 4, 2014 at 5:08 am for driving while intoxicated and aggravated flight from an officer. On September 4, 2014, just after 4:00 am, the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office received a call originating from Louisiana State Police Troop C regarding a vehicle travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes of US Highway 90. Deputies received information that the vehicle was approaching the St. Mary Parish line driving towards Amelia. A deputy stationed in the eastbound lane at the Amelia exit activated the police unit’s lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and continued to travel westbound in the eastbound lanes. The deputy followed the vehicle through Morgan City and into Berwick. Additional units from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, Morgan City Police Department, and Berwick Police Department responded. With the assistance of those agencies, the vehicle was stopped near the Berwick/Bayou Vista line. The driver, identified as Jacobs, was taken into custody. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Jacobs’ breath and person. Jacobs later registered a 0.175g% on the breath test. The deputy transported Jacobs to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

While responding to the call of the vehicle travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes of US Highway 90, a deputy, stationed in the eastbound lane near the Martin Luther King exit in Morgan City, was involved in a crash with an 18 wheeler truck. The deputy was transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, treated, and released in stable condition. The driver of the truck reported no injuries. The investigation of the deputy involved crash has been turned over to Louisiana State Police. Any additional information will be released through that agency.

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

                                        

Jarvis Mack, 28, 528 Taft Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on September 3, 2014 at 6:49 pm on the following charges:

- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute

- Obstruction of justice

- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)

Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division patrolling the Morgan City area observed two subjects walking down Railroad Avenue. One of the subjects, later identified as Mack, saw detectives, immediately turned around, and began walking in the other direction. Detectives observed Mack quickly walk to the side of a nearby residence and place a bag of marijuana underneath the home. Mack then quickly walked away from the residence. Detectives made contact with Mack and recovered the bag of marijuana. The residence that this took place at is next door to a church. Mack was placed under arrest and transported to LEC for booking.

 

Sonya Rebardi, 44, 467 Hunting Road, Ricohoc, LA was arrested on September 3, 2014 at 6:53 pm on a warrant for possession of Schedule III (Lortab). On September 02, 2014 narcotics detectives executed a search warrant at an apartment on General Hodges Street in Morgan City. During the search, detectives located Lortab pills belonging to Rebardi. Rebardi was not at the location at the time of the search. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Rebardi and located her at her residence. Rebardi was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Terry Ratliff, 42, 825 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 3, 2014 at 5:54 pm on the following charges:

- Possession of Schedule IV (Tramadol) with intent to distribute

- Possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids) with intent to distribute

- Possession of Legend Drug (Viagra) without a prescription

- Possession of drug paraphernalia

Christopher Haynes, 32, 117 Marin Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on September 3, 2014 at 5:54 pm on the following charges:-

- Possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids) with intent to distribute

- Possession of Legend Drug (Viagra) without a prescription

- Possession of drug paraphernalia

Narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an improperly displayed license plate on Shady Grove Lane in Patterson. Detectives made contact was made with the driver, Haynes, and the front seat passenger, Ratliff. While speaking with Ratliff, detectives observed packs of synthetic cannabinoids in her hand. Furthering the investigation, detectives located additional packs of synthetic cannabinoids along with Tramadol and Viagra pills. Haynes and Ratliff were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. The vehicle was seized pending forfeiture. Detectives believe the vehicle was used to sell the illegal drugs.
