According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Kayla Williams, 28, 1804 N. Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 24, 2016 at 7:40 am for the following offenses:
- No insurance
- No driver’s license
- Stop sign and yield signs (violation)
- No proof of registration in vehicle
A deputy monitoring school zone traffic on Southeast Boulevard and Delmar Avenue in Bayou Vista observed vehicle run the stop sign at the intersection. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Williams. The deputy found that Williams did not have a valid driver’s license or proof of registration and that she was operating the vehicle without insurance. Williams was released on a summons to appear in court on November 21, 2016.
Kaitlyn N. Miller, 17, 138 Rizzo Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 24, 2016 at 11:48 am for simple battery. A school resource officer responded to a reported fight at Patterson High School. During the course of the investigation, the SRO collected evidence that Miller struck a female juvenile. Miller was transported to the parish jail for booking and later released on a $500 bond.
Devonte Carter, 23, 69 ½ Lee Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 24, 2016 at 2:05 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended license. A correctional officer transported Carter from the St. Landry Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Bail is set at $500.
Amvar Reyes-Machado, 31, 2602 Clines Lane Lot #4, Amelia, LA was arrested on August 24, 2016 at 10:18 pm for domestic abuse battery (strangulation). Deputies responded to a report of domestic abuse at a residence in Amelia. During the course of the investigation, deputies collected evidence that Machado grabbed a female victim by the throat and pushed her against a wall choking her. Deputies transported Machado to the parish jail. No bail is set.
The following arrest was made on August 23, 2016 at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center:
Lucas J. Lang, 28, 108 Timothy Street, Pierre Part, LA was arrested at 2:29 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods. A correctional officer transported Lang from the Assumption Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Lang was released after completing his sentence.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Leonard Aucoin, 38, 2090 River Road Berwick, LA was arrested on August 24, 2016 at 7:29 pm for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm in presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Phyllis Dontay, 62, 2090 River Road Berwick, LA was arrested on August 24, 2016 at 7:29 pm for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section, conducted a search warrant at 2090 River Road in Berwick. The Berwick Police Department assisted with the operation. During the course of the search, detectives located several bags of marijuana, a pipe, a digital scale, and a firearm in the residence. Through the investigation, it was learned that Aucoin and Dontay were selling marijuana from the location. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
Toney Thibodeaux Jr., 35, 215 Carlon Drive, Des Allemands, LA was arrested on August 24, 2016 at 7 :47 pm for the following offenses:
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of Schedule III (Suboxone)
- Possession of Schedule IV (Clonazepam)
Narcotics detectives investigating a complaint of possible illegal narcotics activity made contact with Thibodeaux on Bellview Front Street in Berwick. While speaking with detectives, Thibodeaux admitted to having marijuana on his person. As the investigation progressed, detectives located the marijuana and recovered a pill bottle in his pants pocket that contained additional marijuana. Detectives also found a Suboxone strip and a container with Clonazepam pills inside. Thibodeaux was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
