Arrest Report - August 15, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 82 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Herman Jones, 34, 120 Watson Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 13, 2016 at 9:24 pm for possession of marijuana. A deputy conducting a business security check at a motel in Bayou Vista and smelled the odor of burning marijuana. The then made contact with Jones and observed him smoking a marijuana cigarette, commonly referred to as a joint. While speaking with Jones, he admitted to the deputy that he had additional marijuana in his motel room. The deputy located a small amount of the illegal substance in Jones’ room. Jones was released on a summons to appear in court on November 21, 2016.

 

Wesley B. Arnold, 21, 22017 Highway 22, Ponchatoula, LA was arrested on August 14, 2016 at 9:28 am for violating the maximum speed limit. A deputy on Highway 90 in the Patterson area observed a vehicle traveling 91 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Arnold. Arnold was released on a summons to appear in court on November 21, 2016.

 

Samantha Smith, 22, 9237 High Point Road, Baton Rouge, LA was arrested on August 14, 2016 at 6:54 pm for traveling in the left lane and driving under suspension. A deputy on highway 90 in the Bayou Vista area observed a vehicle traveling in the left lane with no other traffic in the right lane. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Smith. While speaking with her, the deputy found that she was operating the vehicle with a license that was listed as suspended. Smith was released on a summons to appear in court on November 21, 2016.

 

Herman Lockett, 39, 1530 Copp Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on August 14, 2016 at 9:13 pm for violating the maximum speed limit, no insurance, and expired motor vehicle inspection. A deputy working on Highway 182 in Jeanerette observed a vehicle traveling 75 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Lockett. While speaking with him, the deputy learned that he was operating the vehicle with no insurance and an expired MVI. Lockett was released on a summons to appear in court on November 21, 2016.

 

Davis Portier, 35, 347 Camille Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 14, 2016 at 11:15 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista made contact with Portier at the Swamp skate park in Bayou Vista. While speaking with him, the deputy located an active warrant for Portier’s arrest and transported him to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Susette Anslum, 41, 1416 Second Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 15, 2016 at 12:08 am for license plate lights required and possession of marijuana. A deputy patrolling Amelia observed a vehicle with no license plate lights traveling on Highway 182 and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Anslum, and smelled the odor of burning marijuana coming from the vehicle. The deputy received consent to search the car and located a burnt marijuana cigarette inside the vehicle. Anslum was released on a summons to appear in court on November 21, 2016.

 

Mervel Adams, 58, 117 Shirley’s Lane, Centerville, LA was arrested on August 15, 2016 at 12:39 am for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy responding to an unrelated complaint made contact with Adams at his residence and smelled the odor of burning marijuana emanating from the house. The deputy received consent to search the location and found a small amount of marijuana along with items of drug paraphernalia. Adams was released on a summons to appear in court on November 21, 2016.

 

Michael Stewart, 25, 3139 Ashlock Drive, Houston, TX was arrested on August 15, 2016 at 2:10 am for reckless operation of a vehicle. A deputy responded to a complaint of reckless driving in the parking lot of the Amelia Belle Casino in Amelia. The deputy learned from the complainant that a vehicle was “doing doughnuts,” driving in circles in the parking lot. During the course of the investigation, the deputy located the suspect driver at a bar on Highway 182 in Amelia and identified him as Stewart. Stewart was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $500.

 

Bonnie Bass, 37, 111 Lincoln Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 15, 2016 at 3:48 am for domestic abuse battery.

 

Eternity Bass, 18, 111 Lincoln Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 15, 2016 at 3:48 am for domestic abuse battery.

 

A deputy responded to a report of a domestic battery at a residence in Patterson. Through the investigation, the deputy learned that B. Bass and E. Bass were engaged in an argument when they committed a battery upon each other. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
