BOATING WAKE ADVISORY

Because of the higher than average levels of Bayou Teche and the potential for property damage to occur from wakes caused by boats, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office is ISSUING A WAKE ADVISORY FOR ALL AREAS OF THE TECHE ACROSS ST. MARY PARISH. If you are boating in an area where the water is high you need to SLOW DOWN. Be mindful of your wake and the potential damage you could cause. Members of the Marine Division are patrolling on the water. You will be cited if you are found to be operating a boat recklessly causing damage to property along the bayou.
