Arrest Report - July 11, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 101 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jacob Hanks, 27, 116 South Railroad Avenue Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 8, 2016 at 10:05 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of illegal possession of stolen things. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer located an active warrant for Hanks’ arrest. Hanks was released on a $750 bond.

 

Leo Thompson, 46, 125 Emy’s Lane Patterson, LA was arrested on July 8, 2016 at 11:30 am for no motor vehicle insurance. A deputy was flagged down by a subject who stopped in a parking lot on Highway 182 in Morgan City. While speaking with the subject, identified as Thompson, the deputy discovered that he was operating the vehicle without insurance. Thompson was released on a summons to appear in court on October 17, 2016.

 

Bryan A. Tardy, 27, 123 Matthews Lane Franklin, LA was arrested on July 8, 2016 at 4:24 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. Tardy was transported by the Lafayette Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Tardy was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Kerry Davis, Jr., 24, 100 Alexander Lane Franklin, LA was arrested on July 8, 2016 at 2:29 pm on a warrant for criminal damage to property. The warrant was issued following an investigation into a complaint received on June 25, 2016. A deputy collected evidence that Davis punched the windshield of the victim’s vehicle causing it to break. The incident occurred at a residence on St. Joseph Lane. Davis turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin after learning of the warrant for his arrest. Davis was booked into the parish jail and later released on a $200 bond.

 

Craig Barrett, 25, 225 Grey Eagle Road #1 Jeanerette, LA was arrested on July 9, 2016 at 1:20 am for battery of a police officer, disturbing the peace (public intoxication), and resisting an officer. A deputy patrolling Grey Eagle Street in Jeanerette observed a male subject face down on the seat of a pick-up truck with the lower half of his body laying outside of the vehicle. When the deputy made contact with the subject, he immediately began cursing at the deputy and making threats towards the deputy. The deputy identified the subject as Barrett. As the deputy spoke with the him, Barrett grabbed the deputy’s badge and attempted to rip it off. Barrett then shoved the deputy. The deputy detained Barrett. Following an investigation, Barrett was transported to the parish jail for booking. Barrett was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Ronnie Hurst, Jr., 18, 702 Saint Paul Lane, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on July 10, 2016 at 3:45 am for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy on patrol on Highway 182 in the Charenton area observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed enter into the oncoming lane of traffic towards the police unit. The vehicle continued to travel at a high rate of speed crashing into a ditch on Ralph Darden Memorial Parkway. The deputy made contact with an occupant of the vehicle, identified as Hurst. The deputy also observed a small plastic bag containing marijuana inside the vehicle. The deputy transported Hurst to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, Hurst was released on a summons to appear in court on October 17, 2016.

 

Dustin Guilbeau, 31, 2748 Sixth Street Lot #3 Berwick, LA was arrested on July 10, 2016 at 7:59 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer located an active warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.

 

Dylan A. Leblanc, 23, 139 Big Bear Lane Franklin, LA was arrested on July 10, 2016 at 3:46 pm for criminal damage to property, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy responding to a request to standby at a residence in reference to a civil dispute observed a pile of damaged items at a residence in Franklin. During the course of the investigation, the deputy determined that Leblanc purposefully damaged the items. Also, while inside the residence, the deputy observed a plastic container with marijuana inside and a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana. Leblanc was transported to the parish jail for booking. Leblanc was released on a $3,500 bond.

 

Apollonia Louis, 31, 630 Breaux Alley New Iberia, LA was arrested on July 10, 2016 at 8:19 pm for speeding and driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling Charenton observed a vehicle traveling 65 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour zone on Highway 182. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Louis. While speaking with Louis, the deputy found that she was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Louis was released on a summons to appear in court on October 17, 2016.

 

 

Janet Melancon, 57, 2328 Wilson Lane Patterson, LA was arrested on July 10, 2016 at 9:30 pm for reckless operation of a vehicle.

 

Hurbert T. Lovett, 52, 2325 Wilson Lane Patterson, LA was arrested on July 10, 2016 at 9:39 pm for driving with a suspended license.

 

A deputy responded to a complaint of a reckless driver in the parking lot of Walmart in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Lovett drove the vehicle to the location and then went into the store while Melancon waited in the car in the parking lot. The deputy also collected evidence that Melancon then drove the vehicle at a high rate of speed through the parking lot and struck a shopping cart causing it to travel towards vehicles that parked nearby. The deputy also found that Lovett was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Lovett was released on a summons to appear in court on October 17, 2016. Melancon was transported to the parish jail for booking. She was later released on a summons to appear in court on October 17, 2016.

 

 

Alfred Williams, Jr., 52, 809 Sam Street New Iberia, LA was arrested on July 11, 2016 at 1:24 am for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and no driver’s license. A deputy patrolling Charenton responded to a 911 call about a vehicle in a ditch on Chitimacha Trail. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Williams. Williams was unable to provide a valid driver’s license to the deputy. While speaking with the subject, the deputy detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Williams’ breath and person. Williams performed poorly on a field sobriety test and later registered a 0.15g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. Williams was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

 

Stephanie M. Harvey, 37, 115 Cane Street Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on July 8, 2016 at 11:26 pm for the following offenses:

- Failure to properly signal a turn 100 feet prior to an intersection

- Flight from an officer

- Possession of marijuana

- Possession of drug paraphernalia

- Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine)

- Possession of Schedule II (Fentanyl)

 

Kathryn A. Vines, 43, 531 Druilhet Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on July 8, 2016 at 11:26 pm for the following offenses:

- Possession of marijuana

- Possession of drug paraphernalia

- Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine)

- Possession of Schedule II (Fentanyl)

 

Narcotics detectives patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle fail to properly signal a turn from Polaris Street to Middle Road. Detectives initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop. After traveling for several blocks, the driver pulled over in the parking lot of a business off of Jupiter Street. Detectives detained both occupants of the vehicle pending further investigation. The driver was identified as Harvey and the passenger as Vines. While speaking with the subjects, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located a bag of marijuana, plastic baggies, methamphetamine, a straw containing a small amount of methamphetamine, and a Fentanyl patch. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

 

Emily V. Eues, 34, 150 Elaine Street Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 10, 2016 at 7:58 pm for failure to signal 100 feet prior to an intersection, possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer.

 

Kayla Comeaux, 28, 126 Moffet Court Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 10, 2016 at 7:58 pm for possession of Schedule IV (Tramadol), possession of a Legend Drug (Motrin) without a prescription, possession of a Legend Drug (Amoxil) without a prescription.

 

A narcotics detective patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle fail to properly signal a turn onto Teche Road. The detective conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Eues, and passenger, Comeaux. While speaking with the subjects, the detective received consent to search the vehicle and located several pills that were prescribed to other subjects and a bag of marijuana. During Eues’ arrest, she repeatedly pulled away from a deputy who was escorting her to a police unit. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. Eues’ bond is set at $3,250. No bail is set for Comeaux.
