According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests from the Uniformed Patrol Division:
Juvenile Male, 16, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 6, 2016 at 8:45 am for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
Michael Pormier, 17, 608 St. John Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 6, 2016 at 1:32 pm for principal to simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
On May 27, 2016, a detective began an investigation into a complaint of a burglary of a residence on Chatsworth Road in Franklin. The detective developed two suspects, obtained a search warrant for a residence in Franklin, and located several of the stolen items including an Xbox game. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings. Pormier was booked into the parish jail and later released on a $5,000 personal surety bond.
Lorenzo Welch, 23, 701 Ash Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 6, 2016 at 11:11 am on a warrant for probation violation and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A correctional officer transported Welch from the Lafayette Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrants. Welch was released on a $1,330 bond.
