Arrest Report - May 31, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

  

Alvin J. Collins, 50, 56 Mary Gary Baldwin, LA was arrested on May 27, 2016 at 6:45 pm for possession of crack cocaine. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division were patrolling the area of Chitimacha Trail in Baldwin when they made contact with a subject on a bicycle who was weaving in and out of traffic. Detectives identified the subject as Collins. While speaking with him, detectives received consent to search his person and located a rock of crack cocaine hidden in Collins hat. Collins was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Collins was released on a $5,000 bail.

 

Paula D. Lane, 35, 8519 Highway 90 Frontage Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on May 27, 2016 at 7:14 pm for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit patrolling the Patterson area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on US Highway 90 after observing the driver following too closely to another vehicle. The detective made contact with the driver, Lane. While speaking with Lane, the detective received consent to search the vehicle and located a small bag of marijuana, a marijuana cigarette, commonly referred to as a joint, and rolling papers in her purse. Lane was released on a summons to appear in court on August 29, 2016.

 

Morris Hankins, 46, 10608 LA 182 Franklin, LA was arrested on May 28, 2016 at 5:23 pm for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and on a warrant from Lafayette Parish for 3 counts principal to forgery. Patrol deputies responded to an alarm activation at the residence listed above. Upon arrival, deputies found that one of the doors was open and entered the residence in order to secure the home and search for possible intruders. While inside, deputies detected the odor of marijuana and observed a marijuana grinder on a dresser. Patrol deputies contacted detectives with the Narcotics Division to continue the investigation. Detectives obtained a warrant to search the residence and located a small baggie of marijuana and additional items of drug paraphernalia. Patrol deputies also located an active warrant for Hankins. Hankins was released on a summons to appear in court on August 29, 2016 on the drug charges. He was transported to the parish jail for booking on the warrant. Hankins was released after posting a $15,000 bond.

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the 3-day holiday weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 114 complaints and reports the following arrests from the Uniformed Patrol Division and Narcotics Division:

 

Dontrell Robinson, 25, 501 ½ 9th Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on May 27, 2016 at 5:26 pm for off road vehicles on a public roadway prohibited, no license plate, and no insurance. A deputy patrolling the Franklin area observed the driver of a dirt bike traveling with the front wheel of the vehicle in the air (riding a wheelie) on LA Highway 87 near the Sterling Bridge. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver, Robinson, had no license plate on the vehicle or insurance. Robinson was released on a summons to appear in court on August 29, 2016.

 

Chris M. Johnson, 23, 139 Highway 400, Napoleonville, LA was arrested on May 27, 2016 at 10:34 pm for speeding and driving under suspension. A deputy working radar on US Highway 90 observed a vehicle traveling 73 miles per hour in a posted 55 mile per hour zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop near Universe Street in Bayou Vista. While speaking with the driver, identified as Johnson, the deputy found that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Johnson was released on a summons to appear in court on August 29, 2016.

 

Tron Davis, 22, 307 Rudolph Drive, Lafayette, LA was arrested on May 27, 2016 at 11:41 pm for careless operation of a motor vehicle, driving under suspension, and no insurance. A deputy investigating a single vehicle crash on LA Highway 182 at Irish Bend Road in Franklin found that the driver, Davis, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch. The deputy also found that Davis was driving the vehicle with a suspended license and without insurance. Davis was released on a summons to appear in court on August 29, 2016.

 

Louis N. Lee, 60, no address, was arrested on May 28, 2016 at 10:27 am for vagrancy, resisting an officer by refusing to give information, and battery on a police officer. A deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious person on Belleview Street in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with Lee and learned that he had been sleeping behind a nearby business. Lee refused to give his name to the deputy. During Lee’s arrest, he kicked a deputy in the leg. Lee was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $2,250.

 

Demarcus D. Moses, 36, 312 Belle Place, New Iberia, LA was arrested on May 30, 2016 at 4:48 pm for criminal trespass. A deputy working levee detail for the St. Mary Parish Levee District observed two vehicles parked on the unprotected side of the levee on Levee Road in the Franklin area. The deputy identified Moses as the driver of one of the vehicles. The deputy then pointed out to Moses the numerous signs posted in the area advising drivers about the levee laws. Moses was subsequently released on a summons to appear in court on August 29, 2016.

 

Casey R. Ingram, 28, 162 Rodriquez Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on May 30, 2016 at 5:02 pm for criminal trespass. A deputy working levee detail for the St. Mary Parish Levee District observed two vehicles parked on the unprotected side of the levee on Levee Road in the Franklin area. The deputy identified Ingram as the driver of one of the vehicles. The deputy then pointed out to Ingram the numerous signs posted in the area advising drivers about the levee laws. Ingram was subsequently released on a summons to appear in court on August 29, 2016.

 

 

Please note that the following arrests were made on May 25, 2016 and May 26, 2016:

 

Tanner Aucoin, 20, 208 Bowman Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on May 25, 2016 at 8:5 pm on 5 warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. During Aucoin’s booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for another agency, a correctional officer located the active warrants for his arrest. Aucoin remains incarcerated with a $500,000 bail.

 

Brodney Williams, 26, 1804 N Street Patterson, LA was arrested on May 26, 2016 at 8:16 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension and speeding. While booking Williams at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on behalf of another agency, a correctional officer located the active warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.
