According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 30 complaints and reports the following arrests from the Uniformed Patrol Division and Narcotics Division:
Caleb Landry, 17, 323 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on May 9, 2016 at 10:30 am on a warrant for misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile. A detective investigating a report of carnal knowledge of a juvenile found evidence that Landry had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old female at a residence in Bayou Vista in April. Landry turned himself in after learning of the warrant for his arrest. Landry was transported to the parish jail for booking and was released after posting $1,500 bond.
Jonah Madison, 21, Franklin was additionally charged with 2 counts of battery on a correctional facility employee on May 9, 2016 at 3:33 pm. Madison is an inmate at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Two correctional officers were transferring Madison from a cell when the inmate kicked and punched the correctional officers. Madison remains incarcerated. No bail is set.
Sierra Vincent, 27, 121 Oak Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 9, 2016 at 7:39 pm for the following offenses:
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Possession of Schedule I (ecstasy) with intent to distribute
- Possession of Schedule II (Lortab)
- Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax)
- Transactions involving drug proceeds
- Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit was conducting a traffic stop on Highway 90 in the Berwick area when K-9 Buddy indicated the presence of illegal drugs in the rear passenger area of the vehicle. The narcotics detective made contact with a passenger seated in the rear of the vehicle and identified her as Vincent. A juvenile was also located in the vehicle at the time of the investigation. During a search, the narcotics detective located 5 bags of marijuana, 19 ecstasy pills, Xanax pills and a Lortab pill in the vehicle and on Vincent’s person. The detective also located $316 in cash and collected evidence that the money was derived from the sale of illegal drugs. Vincent was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
