Arrest Report - April 20, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 28 complaints and reports the following arrests from the Uniformed Patrol Division and Narcotics Division:

 

Joey Viltz, 51, Jeanerette, LA was additionally charged with criminal damage to property on April 19, 2016 at 11:18 am at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Correctional officers observed Viltz damage a window of a cell. Viltz remains incarcerated. No bail is set.

 

Fred P. Kenner, 29, 1012 Grace Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on April 9, 2016 at 6:40 pm for the following offenses:

- Resisting an officer (by flight)

- Criminal trespass

- Littering

- Warrant from Morgan City Police Department for failure to appear on the charge of battery on a police officer

- Warrant from Morgan City Police Department for failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia

- Warrant from Morgan City Police Department for probation violation

Narcotics detectives patrolling Baldwin observed the driver of a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Martin Luther King Road and initiated a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop. Detectives followed the vehicle to John Street where a passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver of the vehicle then drove away from the area. A detective pursued the passenger, a male subject, through several yards. The detective observed the subject drop items as he fled. Following a short foot chase, the detective apprehended the subject and detained him pending further investigation. The subject was identified as Kenner. Detectives found that he was wanted by Morgan City Police on active warrants. Kenner was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Roseanna B. Lodrigue, 64, 416 Leo Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on April 19, 2016 at 6:54 pm for hit and run driving. A deputy responded to a report of a hit and run incident at a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, the deputy identified the suspected hit and run driver as Lodrigue and collected evidence that she struck another vehicle before driving away from the area. Lodrigue was released on summons to appear in court on July 25, 2016.

 

Darrel Riggins, Jr., 26, 1220 Columbus Avenue, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on April 20, 2016 at 3:27 am for disturbing the peace (intoxication). For the second time that evening, deputies responded to a residence in Bayou Vista in reference to Riggins causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies heard yelling coming from inside the residence. A deputy made contact with Riggins and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. During the subsequent investigation, the deputy learned that Riggins was causing a disturbance. Riggins was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $500.
