According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 104 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Steven Greer, 37, 6694 Highway 182, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 15, 2014 at 2:34 pm on a warrant for domestic abuse battery. A deputy located Greer at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin on the warrant. On July 11, 2014, a deputy was dispatched to Franklin Foundation Hospital in reference to a possible case of domestic abuse. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Greer slammed a female victim’s hand in a door at a residence in Franklin during an argument that took place a few days prior. Greer was transported to the parish jail for booking. Greer was released on a $3,500 bond.
Joseph H. Gilchrist, Jr., 22, 1317 Tarlton Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on August 15, 2014 at 3:17 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace (intoxication). A deputy transported Gilchrist from the Assumption parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Bail is set at $5,000.
On August 15, 2014 at 3:27 pm, the following offenders incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center were charged with second degree battery.

On August 14, 2014 at approximately 2:30 pm, deputies at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center responded to a disturbance in one of the dorms. Deputies observed a 46 year old male with injuries to his head and face. Deputies transported the victim to Franklin Foundation Hospital for treatment. During the subsequent investigation, deputies determined that the offenders listed above struck the victim in the head and face.
Katy L. Ghirardi, 21, 271 Grandwood Drive, Apt. #2, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 15, 2014 at 8:49 pm on a warrant for theft of goods. A deputy responding to a separate complaint made contact with Ghirardi and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation into a report of theft from a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy transported Ghirardi to the parish jail. She was later released on a summons to appear on court on November 14, 2014.
Dwaine Raymond, 48, 124 Keller’s Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 16, 2014 at 6:24 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting).
Randy Dewitt, 21, 124 Keller’s Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 16, 2014 at 6:32 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting).
A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance on Keller’s lane and made contact with both of the subjects listed above. After speaking with the subjects and witnesses, the deputy determined that Raymond and Dewitt were involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The deputy transported Raymond and Dewitt to the parish jail for booking. Both were later released on a $500 bond.
Justin Bourgeois, 41, 234 A Main Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 16, 2014 at 8:56 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. A deputy made contact with Bourgeois on Cane Road in Centerville and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Bourgeois to the parish jail for booking. Bourgeois was later released on a $3,000 bond.
Courtney Saujon, 31, 511 A Signe Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 17, 2014 at 11:27 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of improper turning and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy monitoring traffic at the intersection of Southeast Boulevard and Delmar Road in Bayou Vista conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign. While speaking to the driver of the vehicle, identified as Saujon, the deputy learned that she held an active warrant for arrest. Saujon was released on a $319.50 bail.
Jaclyn G. Rodriguez, 25, 1838 Highway 83, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 17, 2014 at 9:29 pm on a Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on Highway 182 in the Baldwin area made contact with the driver identified as Rodriguez. While speaking with Rodriguez, the deputy learned of the active warrant for her arrest. Rodriguez was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
