Arrest Report - March 14, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 110 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Justin W. Cooper, 34, 2211 Milner Boulevard, Gulfport, MS was arrested on March 11, 2016 at 11:43 pm for theft and disturbing the peace (intoxicated). A deputy responded to a complaint of a theft at a bar on Highway 182 in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with Cooper, and observed several indicators of impairment including slurred speech and staggering. The deputy collected statements from witnesses that Cooper failed to pay his bar tab and used profanity directed towards bar employees. When the deputy attempted to speak with Cooper he used profanity. Cooper was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a $1,500 bond.

 

Brad Degg, 39, 417 Southeast Boulevard, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on March 12, 2016 at 3:15 am for domestic abuse battery.

Delores Degg, 36, 417 Southeast Boulevard, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on March 12, 2016 at 3:15 am for domestic abuse battery.

A deputy responding to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Southeast Boulevard made contact with Delores and Brad Degg and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on their breath and persons. The deputy gathered evidence indicating that B. Degg and D. Degg committed a battery on each other during an argument. B. Degg was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. D. Degg was released on a summons to appear in court on May 27, 2016.

 

Glenn Rochel, Jr., 33, 535 Arcemont Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on March 12, 2016 at 9:52 am on a warrant for theft of goods. While patrolling Bayou Vista, the deputy observed Rochel standing in the door of his residence. The deputy knew Rochel had an active warrant for his arrest and made contact with him. The warrant was issued following an investigation into a shoplifting complaint at a business off of Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. The deputy collected video of Rochel placing candy bars in his pocket and then leaving the store without paying for the items. Rochel was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Tiesha Carbin, 24, 629 Seventy Nine Pines Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on March 12, 2016 at 1:46 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace. A deputy responding to a complaint on Seventy Nine Pines Lane made contact with Carbin and located the active warrant for her arrest. Carbin was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Barry L. Jones, 28, 1038 Ciro Street, Siracusaville, LA was arrested on March 12, 2016 at 2:53 pm for possession of Schedule I with intent to distribute, violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone), and on a warrant from the City Court of Morgan City for failure to appear on the charge of driving under suspension. A deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious person sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of a business off Highway 90 in Bayou Vista who was possibly consuming illegal drugs. The deputy located the subject and smelled the odor of burning marijuana coming from the vehicle. The subject was identified as Jones. The deputy located an active warrant for his arrest. Continuing the investigation into suspected illegal drug activity, the deputy located multiple small plastic bags containing marijuana on the seat where Jones was sitting. The illegal substance was found within 2,000 feet of a nearby church. Jones was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Willie Frank, 62, 114 School House Lane, Charenton, LA was arrested on March 12, 2016 at 9:20 pm for proper equipment required and no vehicle insurance. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on Highway 182 in the Franklin area without a visible license plate light. The deputy made contact with the driver, Frank, and also found that he was operating the vehicle without any insurance listed. Frank was released on a summons to appear in court on May 27, 2016.

 

Joshua Pojar, 34, 1621 Federal Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 13, 2016 at 4:49 am for theft.

Ricky Mire, 35, 104 Jordan Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on March 13, 2016 at 4:49 am for illegal possession of stolen things.

A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store off Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. The deputy gathered a description of two male subjects seen exiting the store with a bicycle that they did not pay for. Deputies searching the area located the subjects matching the description and identified them as Pojar and Mire. While speaking with the subjects, the deputies collected evidence that the bike that was reported stolen was at Mire’s residence. A deputy went to the location and found the bicycle inside the residence. Deputies also collected video of Pojar leaving the store with the bike without paying for the item. Both subjects were released on summonses to appear in court on May 27, 2016.

 

Michael W. Martin, 32, 3510 Second Street, Lot B, Berwick, LA was arrested on March 13, 2016 at 8:15 am for theft of goods. A deputy was flagged down by a subject at a gas station on Highway 317 in the Franklin area regarding a theft of goods from the store. Using the description provided by witnesses, the deputy stopped the suspect vehicle that had been seen leaving the area. The deputy made contact with several occupants in the vehicle including Martin. While speaking with the group, the deputy found evidence that Martin stole an LSU koozie from the gas station. The item was recovered from inside the vehicle. Martin was released on a summons to appear in court on May 27, 2016.

 

Rodney Granger, 22, 543 Verdun Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 13, 2016 at 6:35 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle with a suspended license. A deputy made contact with Granger on Ciro Street in Siracusaville and located the active warrant for his arrest. Granger was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a $500 bond.
