Arrest Report - March 7, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 104 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Edward Beasley, 38, 410 Varone Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on March 4, 2016 at 2:50 pm for failure to yield and hit and run driving. A deputy was dispatched to a two vehicle crash on LA Hwy. 83 at Martin Luther King Road in Baldwin. While en route, the deputy received information that one of the drivers, a male subject, fled the scene. Baldwin Police located the driver and requested that he return to the site. The driver was identified as Beasley. During the crash investigation, the deputy collected evidence that Beasley pulled into the oncoming lane of traffic into the path of a vehicle and was struck. No major injuries were reported. Beasley was released on a summons to appear in court on May 27, 2016.

 

Emanuel Gonzales-Ortez, 21, 144 Westside Park, Amelia, LA was arrested on March 5, 2016 at 4:18 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of careless operation of a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy made contact with Gonzales-Ortez at his residence and located the active warrant for his arrest. Gonzales-Ortez was transported to the parish jail for booking. Gonzales-Ortez was released on a $365 bond.

 

Jamie R. Charles, 31, 300 Sorrell Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on March 5, 2016 at 2:45 pm for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to obey traffic control signals. A deputy investigating a two vehicle crash on US Hwy. 90 at LA 318 made contact with the drivers of the vehicles, one of whom was identified as Charles. While speaking with Charles, the deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test. Charles performed poorly and later registered a 0.203g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. The deputy gathered evidence that Charles ran a red light at the intersection striking a vehicle. Charles was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Wilson J. Jackson, 34, 449 Sorrell Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on March 5, 2016 at 2:57 pm for resisting an officer and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, improper lane usage, and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license. The deputy investigating the crash listed in the previous arrest made contact with Jackson. While attempting to speak with Jackson in reference to the crash investigation he attempted to flee the scene. The deputy detained Jackson and located the active warrant for his arrest. Jackson was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $6,000.

 

Clinton Fryer, 28, 568 Willow Circle, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 6, 2016 at 11:56 am for violation of protective orders. A deputy responded to a complaint of littering on Highway 87 in the Franklin area. The deputy located a chest of drawers that appeared to have been dumped. During the littering investigation, the deputy found evidence that Fryer dumped the furniture belonging to a female victim which was in violation of an active protective order. Fryer was transported to the parish jail for booking. Fryer was released on a $1,500 bond.

 

Juvenile female, 13, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 6, 2016 at 4:12 pm for simple battery and ungovernable juvenile. A deputy investigating a complaint of a battery gathered evidence that the juvenile kicked a female victim in the chest. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Betty Neddie, 66, 1308 James Street, Siracusaville, LA was arrested on March 7, 2016 at 12:10 am for hit and run driving. A deputy investigating a hit and run incident that occurred in the Amelia Belle Casino parking lot developed Neddie as a suspect. The deputy located Neddie at her residence. While speaking with the deputy, Neddie admitted to striking a vehicle and leaving the scene. Neddie was released on a summons to appear in court on May 27, 2016.
