According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 28 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Caston Malveaux, 59, 511 B Signe Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 29, 2016 at 8:07 am for careless operation of a motor vehicle with a crash and no insurance. A deputy was dispatched to a two vehicle crash on Highway 90 near Universe Road in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with both of the drivers, including Malveaux. The deputy collected statements that Malveaux pulled into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Malveaux was subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. No other injuries were reported. Malveaux was released on a summons to appear in court on May 4, 2016.
Precious Beasley, 26, 416 Martin Luther King Drive Apt. 19, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on February 29, 2016 at 12:44 pm for careless operation with a crash and expired motor vehicle inspection sticker. A deputy was dispatched to a three vehicle crash on Highway 90 in Jeanerette. The deputy collected statements that Beasley, the driver of one of the vehicles, failed to yield to oncoming traffic while entering the highway and struck a vehicle which then struck another vehicle on the roadway. Beasley was also found to have an expired inspection sticker. Beasley was released on a summons to appear in court on May 4, 2016.
Rhonda Lodrigue, 39, Two Sister’s Court, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on February 29, 2016 at 2:50 pm for theft, forgery, and monetary instrument abuse. A deputy investigating a complaint of a theft found evidence that Lodrigue stole two checks from a relative and forged them to purchase items and receive cash back at a store in Berwick. Lodrigue was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Demetrius Green, 27, 630 Shannon Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 29, 2016 at 5:18 pm for domestic abuse battery. Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in progress at a business on Highway 90 in the Patterson area. During the course of the investigation, deputies gathered evidence that Green stuck a female victim during an argument. Green was transported to the parish jail for booking. Green was released on $1,000 bond.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Nathaniel Hawkins, Sr., 44, 311 Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on February 29, 2016 at 7:48 pm for failure to properly signal a turn and possession with intent to distribute MDMA (ecstasy). St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division detectives traveling on Highway 182 in Morgan City observed a vehicle turn into a business parking lot without properly signaling and conducted a traffic stop. Detectives made contact with the driver, Hawkins. While talking to Hawkins, detectives observed him retrieve a cellophane baggie containing suspected illegal drugs from between the seat and center console and place it in his pocket. Detectives recovered the bag and found that it contained several individual bags of MDMA pills. Hawkins was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
