Arrest Report - January 6, 2016

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Nicholas Grimmett, 34, 134 South Verret Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 5, 2016 at 9:19 am on a warrant for simple battery. A deputy investigating a complaint of a battery learned that Grimmett punched a male victim during an argument at a residence in Bayou Vista. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Grimmett turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Grimmett was released on a $500 bond.

 

Keith Robinson, 36, 492 Verdun Lane, Verdunville, LA was arrested on January 5, 2016 at 11:01 am on a warrant for simple battery. A deputy investigating a complaint of a battery collected statements indicating that Robinson struck a female victim at a residence in Centerville. A warrant was issued for Robinson’s arrest. Robinson turned himself in at the St. Mary parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. Robinson was released on a $500 bond.

 

Kyle Rhett, 24, 615 Leo Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 5, 2016 at 11:11 am on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. Rhett was incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville when a jailer located the active warrant. No bail is set.

 

Kenneth Singleton, Jr., 18, 1515 Main Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 5, 2016 at 3:15 pm on a warrant for aggravated cruelty to animals (principal). A detective investigating a complaint of animal cruelty collected evidence indicating that Singleton abetted in the killing of two raccoons at the Atchafalaya Golf Course at Idlewild on December 11, 2015. The detective obtained a warrant for his arrest. Singleton turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Singleton was released on a $2500 personal surety bond.

 

Kendrick Fontenot, 34, 1211 Samuel Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 5, 2016 at 3:50 pm for warrants from Morgan City Police Department on two charges of simple assault and violation of a protective order. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Division located Fontenot at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin. Fontenot was transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

 

Marvin Blackmon, Sr., 62, 7212 Highway 182, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 5, 2016 at 7:55 pm on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Blackmon turned himself in at the parish jail. Bail is set at $100,000.

 

Brian J. Fitter, 34, 704 Kelli Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 6, 2016 at 12:33 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of angling without a license. A deputy investigating a suspicious vehicle parked on Cotton Road in the Patterson area made contact with Fitter and located the active warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.

 

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

 

Joseph James, 34, 813 Iberia Street Franklin, LA was arrested on January 5, 2016 at 4:47 pm for possession of cocaine and entering contraband into a penal institution. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center a bag of cocaine was located on James’ person. No bail is set.
