Arrest Report August 7, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 45 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

James Alexander, 50, 1018 ½ Joseph Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 6, 2014 at 10:06 am on a warrant for failure to appear. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Highway 182 near James Street in Amelia and made contact with the driver, identified as Alexander. During the course of the traffic stop investigation, the deputy discovered that Alexander was wanted on the active warrant. The deputy transported Alexander to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $7,500.

 

Christopher G. Fryar, 31, 112 Pond Drive, Bayou L’Ourse, LA was arrested on August 6, 2014 at 10:28 pm on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy received information from the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding a subject that held an active warrant from St. Mary Parish. With the assistance of Assumption parish deputies, the SMPSO deputy made contact with the subject at a business on Highway 182 in Amelia. The subject was identified as Fryar. The deputy released Fryar on a summons to appear in court on November 14, 2014.

 

On the morning of August 6, 2014, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a regular search of the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. During the search, deputies located three items of contraband resulting in additional charges against three inmates.

Fernando Ariano, 34, Morgan City, LA is charged with contraband in penal institutions prohibited (possession of contraband in a penal institution) after deputies found a SIM card on Ariano’s person.

Ronnie Jones, 26, Bayou Vista, LA is charged with contraband in penal institutions prohibited (possession of contraband in a penal institution) after deputies located a small bag containing a suspected synthetic cannabinoid on his person.

Murray Bridget, 35, Patterson, LA is charged with contraband in penal institutions prohibited (possession of contraband in a penal institution) after deputies located a cell phone on Bridget’s person.
