According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 125 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Victor Moctezuma, 40, 1484 Prairie Road Circle, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 1, 2014 at 3:22 pm at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City on a warrant for aggravated second degree battery. The warrant is the result of an investigation into a stabbing which occurred at a residence on Prairie Road Circle on June 28, 2014. Detectives determined that Moctezuma and a male subject were arguing when Moctezuma stabbed the victim multiple times with a pocket knife. Moctezuma was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set.
Tony Kaufman, 20, 812 Magnolia Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on August 1, 2014 at 4:49 pm at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City on a warrant for probation violation our of San Patricio County in Texas. A deputy transported Kaufman to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set.
Jessica E. Hotard, 34, 119 Squirrel Run, Youngsville, LA was arrested on August 1, 2014 at 7:29 pm for reckless operation of a vehicle and flight from an officer. A deputy observed a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit on Uranus Road. The driver nearly struck a parked vehicle, forced another vehicle to the side of the road, and failed to stop at a stop sign at the Highway 182 intersection. The deputy initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle entered onto Highway 90. The driver of the vehicle initially failed to pull over travelling for several miles before stopping. The driver, identified as Hotard, was transported to the parish jail for booking. She was later released on a $5,000 bond.
Jade May, 21, 411 Mike Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 2, 2014 at 12:18 am on a warrant for failure to appear. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 182 made contact with a passenger in the vehicle identified as May. During the course of the stop, the deputy discovered that May was wanted on an active warrant. The deputy transported May to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a $2,000 bond.
Jalon Jenkins, 21, 120 Yellow Bayou Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 2, 2014 at 4:41 am for possession of Schedule I drugs, second offense. A deputy conducting an investigation into a complaint of a vehicle crash in the Jeanerette area made contact with Jenkins. The deputy observed Jenkins take a small plastic bag from his pocket and attempt to discard it in a nearby ditch. The deputy retrieved the bag and identified the substance inside as a synthetic cannabinoid. The deputy transported Jenkins to the parish jail for booking. Jenkins was later released on a $5,000 bond.
Brandon Mitchell, 32, 1017 Woodview Court, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 2, 2014 at 11:11 am on two warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. A deputy received information from St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding the whereabouts of Mitchell who was wanted on active warrants. With the assistance of St. Martin Parish deputies, Mitchell was located at a residence on Dawn Drive in Stephensville. He was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $200,000.
Jason Leblanc, 37, 133 Lagonda Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on August 2, 2014 at 6:45 pm for violating the parish leash law and vicious animal ordinances. A deputy responded to a complaint of a Pit Bull dog running loose in the Lagonda Lane area. Upon arrival, the deputy observed the Pit Bull running loose without a leash. Leblanc then exited a nearby residence and retrieved the dog. The deputy identified Leblanc as the owner of the animal. The deputy referred Leblanc to the St. Mary Parish Animal Control Center for further information on the parish ordinance regarding Pit Bills. Leblanc was released on a summons to appear in court on November 14, 2014.
Casey David, 36, 635 Magnolia Ridge Road, Boutte, LA was arrested on August 3, 2014 at 6:34 pm for simple battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a fight in progress at a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that David and a male subject were involved in a brief argument that escalated into a physical encounter when David struck the male victim. The deputy transported David to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a $500 bond.
John K. Buck, 27, 266 Ricohoc Drive, Ricohoc, LA was arrested on August 3, 2014 at 9:29 pm on a warrant for failure to appear. Buck was transported from Neshoba County jail in Philadelphia, MS to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. No bail is set.
Veronica Lynch, 39, 116 Shannon Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 3, 2014 at 10:33 pm on a warrant for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responding to a complaint on Shannon Street made contact with Lynch and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation into a domestic disturbance at a residence on Marin Lane in Patterson in which Lynch scratched a male victim during a verbal argument. Lynch was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
