Arrest Report- November 9, 2015

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the 72 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 114 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

 

 

Shawn Marreel, 41, 516 Morris St, Franklin LA, was arrested on November 6, 2015 at 12:59pm on a warrant for the charge of probation violation. Marreel was transported from another jurisdiction to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for incarceration. No bail is set.

 

Effie Wiltz, 31, 601 Sixth St, Morgan City LA, was arrested on November 6, 2015 at 1:09pm on the following warrants:

  • - Failure to appear on the charge of attempted possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
  • - Failure to appear on the charge of introducing or possessing contraband in any municipal or parish prison or jail
  • - Failure to appear on the charge of unauthorized use of an access card

Wiltz was transported from the Jeanerette Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $300,000.

 

Tony Myers, 26, 139 Todd Lane, Patterson LA, was arrested on November 6, 2015 at 2:51pm for violation of the leash law parish ordinance. A deputy responded to a complaint of a loose dog on Todd Lane in Patterson. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Myers’ dog was not on a leash and had been roaming the neighborhood. Myers was released on a summons to appear in court on February 11, 2016.

 

Aries Keal, 32, 107 Kerry Lane, Baldwin LA, was arrested on November 6, 2015 at 2:53pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. A deputy patrolling the Jeanerette area responded to a traffic incident on Highway 182 in Jeanerette. The deputy made contact with the driver of a vehicle involved in the incident, Keal, and learned of his active warrant. Keal was arrested and transported to the parish jail. Bail is set at $5,000.

 

Dava Leonard, 34, 411 Henry St, Patterson LA, was arrested on November 6, 2015 at 8:58pm for entering contraband into a penal institution and possession of a schedule III narcotic. Leonard reported to the parish jail to serve a sentence for drug court. When booking deputes conducted a subsequent search, they found that Leonard had a white pill in her front pant pocket. The pill was identified as being a schedule III narcotic. Leonard was booked on the charges and remains incarcerated with no bail set.

 

Heriberto Lastra-Osorio, 35, 120 West Side Park Lane, Amelia LA, was arrested on November 7, 2015 at 9:36pm for careless operation of a motor vehicle, no driver’s license, and failure to provide proof of liability insurance. A deputy assigned to patrol the Jeanerette area responded to a traffic incident on Highway 90 and Highway 318. The deputy made contact with the driver, Lastra-Osorio, and found that he did not have a driver’s license and did not have insurance on the vehicle he was operating. Lastra-Osorio had been observed by a witness to be continuously swerving in and out of the left hand lane. Lastra-Osorio was released on a summons to appear in court on February 11, 2016.

 

 

Gregory Wesley, 43, 1215 Cypremort Road, Jeanerette LA, was arrested on November 7, 2015 for simple criminal damage to property, resisting an officer, disturbing the peace and criminal trespass. A deputy responded to a disturbance at a residence on Cypremort Road in Jeanerette. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Wesley damaged a door and then began yelling and cursing at people inside the home. When confronted by the deputy, Wesley attempted to flee the area by running through multiple yards. Wesly was transported to the parish jail. Bail is set at $2,750.

 

Dexter Smith, 26, 112 Sugar Lane, Jeanerette LA, was arrested on November 8, 2015, at 9:13pm on the following warrants:

  • - Failure to appear on the charge of marijuana
  • - Failure to appear on the charge of marijuana

A deputy patrolling the Jeanerette area observed a vehicle with a non-functioning taillight. The deputy intitated a traffic stop on Highway 182 and made contact with the driver, Smith. During the investigation it was learned that Smith had active warrants for his arrest. Smith was transported to the St Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $3,000.

 

Joseph Bias, 58, 105 Guzzetta Dr, Berwick LA, was arrested on November 8, 2015 at 7:46pm for failure to appear on charges of aggravated battery and possession of marijuana. Bias turned himself into a booking deputy at the parish jail. No bail is set.

 

 

Justin Lacaze, 23, 973 Highway 90 East, Bayou Vista LA, was arrested on November 9, 2015 at 2:16am for two counts of theft of goods. A deputy assigned to patrol the Bayou Vista area responded to a shoplifting complaint at a business. The deputy learned that Lacaze took bottles of liquor without paying for them and then ran away from security personnel. Lacaze also confessed to stealing liquor from the same business at a previous incident on November 3, 2015. Lacaze was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
