According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Steven Legnon, 21, 130 Legnon Court, Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 30, 2014 at 6:59 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store personnel that Legnon was seen taking items of clothing and putting them on before attempting to leave the store without paying for the goods. Legnon was released on a summons to appear in court on October 13, 2014.
Matthew Naquin, 23, 28909 West 183rd Street, Gardner, Kansas, was arrested on July 30, 2014 on a warrant for failure to appear. A deputy received information that Naquin was at a residence on Parish Road 131 in Centerville. The deputy located Naquin on the warrant and transported him to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $5,000.
Jaquincy Colbert, 23, 5055 Nicholls Drive, Baton Rouge, LA was arrested on July 31, 2014 for speeding, no driver’s license, and possession of Schedule I (marijuana). A deputy patrolling the Centerville area observed a vehicle travelling above the posted speed limit and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Colbert, and learned that he was driving without a license. The deputy received consent to search Colbert’s person and the vehicle and located marijuana. The deputy released Colbert on a summons to appear in court on October 13, 2014.
