Arrest Report- October 19, 2015

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the 72 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 118 complaints and reports no arrest

 

Ashley Wanee Logerman, 24, 105 8th Baldwin, LA was arrested on October 16, 2015 at 6:52am for the following offenses:

  • Driving under suspension
  • Careless operation of a motor vehicle
  • Child passenger restraint
  • Headlamps required

A deputy patrolling the Baldwin area observed a vehicle without its headlamps on attempting to pass two sugarcane trucks on Highway 182.  The driver of the vehicle nearly collided with the deputy in his passing attempt. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Logerman. During the course of the traffic stop investigation, the deputy discovered that a toddler in the rear seat of the vehicle was not properly restrained in a child restraint of any kind. In addition, the deputy learned that the Logerman had a suspended license. Logerman was released on a summons to appear in court on January 13, 2016.  

 

Willie Derouen, 52, 153 Mars Rd, Apt 1, Bayou Vista LA, was arrested on October 16, 2015 at 5:43pm for reckless operation of a vehicle (with accident). A deputy responded to the scene of a crash in the Franklin area on Highway 182. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Derouen was traveling west on Highway 182 when he made an abrupt left hand turn in the path of the other vehicle involved, causing damage to both vehicles. Derouen was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a summons to appear in court on January 13, 2016.

Harry Thielepape, 39, 272 Cane Rd, Centerville LA, was arrested on October 16, 2015 at 5:07pm for driving under suspension. A deputy responded to the scene of a crash in the Franklin area on Highway 182. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that one of the drivers involved, Thielepape, was operating his vehicle with a suspended license. Thielepape was released on a summons to appear in court on January 13, 2016.

 

Joshua Barnes, 31, 607 Barrow St, Morgan City LA, was arrested on October 17, 2015 at 3:38pm on the charge of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. During the course of the investigation, the detective learned that Barnes engaged in sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old female in the Bayou Vista area. Barnes was arrested and transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $2,500.

 

Shane Michael Vallet, 23, 1017 Oakdale St, Franklin LA, was arrested on October 18, 2015 at 3:49am on the following charges:

  • Possession of a schedule I narcotic
  • Possession of a schedule II narcotic with intent to distribute
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Warrant for the charge of terrorizing

A deputy working a security detail at a business in Jeanerette located Vallet after learning of the warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted on October 16, 2015. During the course of that investigation, it was learned that Vallet sent text messages to another individual indicating that he was going to burn a house down .

 

During the encounter, the deputy searched Vallet’s vehicle. The deputy found marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Vallet was transported to the parish jail. Bail is set at $21,000

 

Loreal Miller, 28, 203 Labau St, Baldwin LA, was arrested on October 18, 2015 at 11:17am on a warrant for failing to appear in court in 2013 on charges of disturbing the peace and simple assault. Baldwin Police Department transported Miller to the St Mary Law Enforcement Center where she was later released on a $7,500 bond.

 

Male Juvenile, 16, Bayou Vista LA, was arrested on October 18, 2015 at 12:46pm for domestic abuse battery and resisting a police officer with force. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that the juvenile struck and spit at another individual inside the home. The juvenile continued to yell obscenities and refused to be arrested during the arrest process. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
