According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 39 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Trevis M. Ray, 19, 131 Reno Street, Pierre Part, LA was arrested on July 28, 2014 at 2:20 pm for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store personnel that Ray was seen taking items of clothing and putting them on before attempting to leave the business without paying for the goods. Ray was released on summons to appear in court on October 13, 2014.
Myron Hatch, Jr., 41, 1805 Federal Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 28, 2014 at 2:38 pm on a warrant for 8 counts of forgery. A deputy transported Hatch from the St. Bernard Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into a complaint of stolen checks received in June. The detective developed information that Hatch forged the checks and cashed them at several businesses in the area. No bail is set.
Derrick J. Batiste, 26, 607 Grove Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 28, 2014 at 3:37 pm on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. A deputy transported Batiste from the Lafourche Parish Detention Center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. Bail is set at $100,000.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Blake Leblanc, 50, 111 Jordin Lane Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on July 28, 2014 at 8:37 pm on a warrant for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tracie Hargrave, 43, 500 Clarke Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on July 28, 2014 at 8:44 pm for possession of marijuana.
Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at Leblanc’s residence. During the search, detectives located marijuana, scales, and plastic baggies used to package marijuana for sale. Leblanc was not home at the time of the investigation and a warrant was issued for his arrest. In an attempt to locate Leblanc and conduct an investigation into several complaints of illegal drug activity, detectives went to the above listed address on Clarke Road. Detectives made contact with Hargrave and Leblanc and smelled the odor of burnt marijuana from inside the residence. During the subsequent investigation, Hargrave admitted to possessing the illegal substance. Leblanc was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. Hargrave was released on a summons to appear in court on October 13, 2014. Officers from the Berwick Police Department and Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division assisted with the search warrant and arrests.
