According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Tony E. Karo, 55, 4834 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, LA was arrested on August 27, 2015 at 7:03 pm for domestic abuse battery.
Tony C. Karo, 18, 4834 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, LA was arrested on August 27, 2015 at 7:03 pm for domestic abuse battery.
A deputy responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute at a residence in Charenton and made contact with father and son, Tony E. Caro and Tony C. Karo. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that the two subjects were involved in a physical altercation during an argument. The deputy transported both subjects to the parish jail. Tony E. Karo was released after posting $1,000 bond. No bond is set for Tony C. Karo.
Brian Johnson, 53, 103 Bailey’s Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on August 27, 2015 at 6:44 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a disturbance at residence on Bailey’s Lane. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Johnson kicked a female victim during an argument causing her to fall. The deputy transported Johnson to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Juvenile female, 16, Amelia, LA was arrested on August 27, 2015 at 9:41 pm for domestic abuse battery and aggravated assault. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance in Amelia and made contact with two female subjects one of whom was a juvenile. While speaking with the two subjects, the deputy learned that they were arguing when the juvenile picked up a metal pole and struck the other subject in the arm. Following the investigation, the juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Stephen Baudoin, 54, 130 Rue Mirbeau, Lafayette, LA was arrested on August 28, 2015 at 4:18 am for remaining where forbidden. A deputy encountered a complainant while at a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. While speaking with the complainant, the deputy learned that Baudoin refused to leave a nearby residence despite being asked to do so repeatedly. The deputy went to the residence and located Baudoin. After speaking with him, the deputy transported Baudoin to the parish jail. Bail is set at $10,000.
Lionel Granger, III, 50, 1008 Grace Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 27, 2015 at 5:44 pm for the following violations:
- Maximum speed limit
- Reckless operation of a vehicle
- Driving under suspension
- Possession of open alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles
- Possession of Schedule I (marijuana), 2nd offense
- Resisting an officer (refusing to give information)
A deputy responding to a report of a reckless driver on Highway 90 in the Franklin area observed a vehicle traveling 96 miles per hour in a posted 70 mile per hour zone. The deputy also observed the vehicle swerving onto the shoulder of the roadway. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Granger. Granger refused to provide a driver’s license or information and began cursing at the deputy. The deputy learned that Granger’s license was suspended. During the course of the investigation, the deputy observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. A small amount of marijuana was also located. The deputy transported Granger to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Zacolby Granger, 23, 1008 Grace Street, Siracusaville, LA was arrested on August 27, 2015 at 9:02 pm for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Narcotics detectives conducted a search warrant at the address listed above and located marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that the items belonged to Granger. Detectives released Granger on a summons to appear in court on November 17, 2015.
