Arrest Report - July 23, 2015

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

 

James Pike, II, 49, 831 Degravelle Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on July 22, 2015 at 7:07 pm for attempting to obtain a controlled dangerous substance by fraud. In June, a detective with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division received a complaint from a Morgan City medical office of a subject attempting to fill a prescription for a controlled dangerous substance early. The detective learned that Pike had obtained the same prescription drug from other doctors in several other locations outside the parish. This practice is commonly referred to as doctor shopping. Pike came to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City in reference to the investigation and was subsequently taken into custody. Bail is set at $50,000.

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 46 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Dillion P. Burgess, 21, 113 Shirley Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 22, 2015 at 6:54 am for possession of Schedule I (marijuana), 3rd offense and possession of Schedule IV (Xanax). A deputy observed a vehicle parked on the side of the roadway on Alice C. Road in the Centerville area and stopped to speak with the driver who was identified as Burgess. While doing so, the deputy learned that Burgess had what is commonly called a blunt, marijuana wrapped in cigar paper, inside the vehicle. During Burgess’ arrest, the deputy located a small bag of marijuana and multiple Xanax pills. The deputy transported Burgess to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Willie Holmes, Jr., 43, 210 Caprie Court, Houma, LA was arrested on July 22, 2015 at 9:40 am on a warrant for theft of goods. Detectives distributed information regarding a theft at Walmart in Bayou Vista. On Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 8:30 pm a subject is seen on video surveillance exiting the store with a shopping basket containing several items that were not purchased. The stolen items included a pressure washer, car covers, hoses, and fishing poles. The detective assigned to the case received information from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office identifying the suspect as Willie Holmes, Jr. The detective conducted an interview with Holmes and subsequently obtained a warrant for his arrest on the charge of theft of goods. Holmes was transported from the Terrebonne Parish jail and booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bail is set at $1,000.

 

Ora L. Garner, 62, 305 Lawrence Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 22, 2015 at 2:36 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of improper lane usage, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, and failure to honor written promise to appear. Garner was booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and a jailer located an active warrant for Garner. No bail is set.

 

Barry Jones, 28, 115 Cane Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on July 22, 2015 at 11:00 pm for possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies.

Stephanie M. Harvey, 36, 115 Cane Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on July 22, 2015 at 11:00 pm for illegal discharge of a firearm, criminal damage to property, illegally supplying a felon with a firearm.

A deputy responded to a complaint of a burglary at a residence on Cane Road. While en route, the deputy received information that gun shots had been fired at the location. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Jones and Harvey. The complainant stated that several subjects were seen running behind the residence when Harvey fired multiple shots in that direction. The deputy learned that after firing the rounds, Harvey handed the weapon to Jones, who is a convicted felon. A bullet hole was located in a nearby shed. Deputies found no signs of forced entry. Nothing was reported stolen. The burglary complaint remains under investigation. The deputy also discovered that the two subjects had fired guns inside the residence on the previous night. Bullet holes were also located inside the home. No bail is set.

 

Erving Knight, 31, 1802 O Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on July 23, 2015 at 2:51 am for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned that a subject riding as a passenger in a pick-up truck was seen loading lawn chairs into the vehicle. The subject then left the store without paying for the merchandise. The deputy located the vehicle at the above listed residence and learned that Knight was driving the truck at the time of the theft. Knight was transported to the parish jail for booking.

 

Merker L. Broussard, 40, 109 Georgetown Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 22, 2015 at 4:15 pm on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender and failure to pay sex offender registration fee. Broussard was also booked on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy transported Broussard from the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.
