According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Kayla Comeaux, 27, 126 Moffett Court, Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 8, 2015 at 2:16 pm on three warrants for failure to comply to with the terms and conditions of drug court. Comeaux was transported from the Assumption Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrants. Bail is set at $300,000.
Leanna Gresco, 24, 7111 Highway 70, Stephensville, LA was arrested on July 8, 2015 at 4:01 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, speeding, and failure to honor written promise to appear. Gresco came to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City in reference to a separate investigation. While speaking with Gresco, an active warrant for her arrest was located. Gresco was transported to the parish jail for booking. She was later released with a $335 fine.
Joshua Miller, 19, 708 Boudreaux Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on July 8, 2015 at 11:44 pm for tail lights required, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy assigned to patrol Amelia conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had no passenger side brake light. The deputy made contact with the driver, Miller, and smelled the strong odor of burning marijuana coming from the vehicle. The deputy called for the assistance of the Morgan City K-9 unit. The K-9 officer alerted the deputy to the presence of illegal drugs on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The deputy located a plastic bag containing a small amount of marijuana in the driver’s side door. The deputy also located cigars used to smoke the marijuana. Following the investigation, the deputy released Miller on a summons to appear in court on October 14, 2015.
