According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Quinn Lewis, 28, 1414 Cypremort Road, Four Corners, LA was arrested on June 4, 2015 at 8:25 am for the following offenses:
- Domestic abuse battery (child endangerment)
- Warrant for flight from an officer, criminal trespass, and off road vehicles on a
- Justice of the Peace warrant for simple battery
A deputy was dispatched to a report of a domestic battery in progress at a residence in Four Corners. From outside the residence, the deputy heard two subjects arguing about a battery that occurred. The deputy then entered the residence and made contact with Lewis and a female subject. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned Lewis pushed a female victim during a heated argument between the two. A young child was present during the encounter. The deputy also discovered that Lewis was wanted on active warrants. The warrant for flight from an officer among other charges was obtained after Lewis fled off road on a four wheeler from a deputy who had initiated a traffic stop. Lewis was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Lachanda Casteal, 1303 Iberia Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 4, 2015 at 9:13 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of violation of the general speed law and driving under suspension. Casteal turned herself in at the St. Mary parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. She was later released on a $500 bond.
David Brown, 43, 103 Todd Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 4, 2015 at 1:13 pm on a warrant from the Thibodaux police Department for failure to appear on the charges of failure to give turn signals, driving under suspension, and 2 counts direct contempt. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Division located Brown at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin. Brown was transferred to the Thibodaux Police Department.
Cheryl Ladnier, 56, 254 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, LA was arrested on June 4, 2015 at 2:07 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt of court, speeding, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy made contact with Ladnier at a location on Highway 87 in the Franklin area and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. Ladnier was released on a $325 bond.
On June 4, 2015, a deputy responded to a complaint of several subjects jumping from Zenor Bridge into Bayou Teche in the Patterson aerea. As the deputy approached the bridge, she saw a group of six subjects in swim suits and observed one of the subjects jump off the structure. All subjects, including a 16 year old male juvenile, were detained. Five of the subjects were arrested and charged with violating a parish ordinance prohibiting swimming from parish bridges and allowing a minor to swim from a parish bridge. The juvenile was released. Austin Thomassie, 17, 131 ½ Riverview Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested at 3:03 pm. Ryan Boudreaux, 19, 212 D. Southeast Boulevard, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested at 3:03 pm. Amber Swanson, 17, 630 Teche Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested at 3:30 pm. Ethan Mensman, 17, 154 Riverview Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested at 3:30 pm Jared Lacompte, 17, 3064 Purvis to Columbia Road, Lumberton, MS was arrested at 3:50 pm. The subjects were released on summonses to appear in court on September 16, 2015.
Troy P. Carnley, 516 Henry Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 4, 2015 at 9:08 pm for hit and run driving. A deputy investigating a complaint of a hit and run crash that occurred on May 31, 2015 identified Carnley as the driver of a vehicle that struck another vehicle at the intersection of LA Highway 182 and US Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. The deputy located Carnley at his residence and following the investigation released him on a summons to appear in court on September 16, 2015.
Charles Preece, 26, 1927 River Road, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 5, 2015 at 1:02 am for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) 2nd offense and no insurance.
Chace Ribardi, 23, 3190 First Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 5, 2015 at 1:02 am for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) 2nd offense.
A deputy investigating a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Anthony Street observed two subjects sleeping in a vehicle. The deputy made contact with the subjects and identified the driver as Preece and the passenger as Ribardi. While speaking with the subjects the deputy observed a small bag containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana inside the vehicle. Preece was also found to be driving without valid insurance. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
