Arrest Report - May 4, 2015

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour weekend reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 117 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Barry D. Ewing, 70, 1219 Hwy. 319, Cypremort Point, LA was arrested on May 1, 2015 at 12:11 pm on a warrant for simple battery. Ewing turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. The warrant stems from an investigation into a complaint of a battery that occurred at a residence on Highway 317 in which Ewing pushed and choked a female victim. Bail is set at $500.

 

Melinda Garrison, 48, 180 Vivian Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA was arrested on May 1, 2015 at 8:08 pm on a warrant for theft. The warrant is the result of an investigation into a theft that occurred in the parking lot of a business on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia. A tire and rim was stolen off of a vehicle. The deputy identified Garrison as the subject seen on video surveillance removing the tire. Another deputy made contact with Garrison at a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. Bail is set at $1,000.

 

Leonard Stewart, 43, 1014 Martin Luther King Road, Baldwin, LA was arrested on May 2, 2015 at 2:04 am for obstruction of justice and careless operation of a vehicle with a crash. A deputy investigating a single vehicle crash on LA Highway 83 in Baldwin made contact with Stewart. Stewart claimed to the deputy that someone else was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. However, the deputy developed evidence indicating that Stewart was the driver who lost control of the vehicle crashing into a ditch and a pole. The deputy transported Stewart to the parish jail for booking. Stewart was later released on a $1,500 bond.

 

Shane D. Todd, 39, 204 Willow Bend Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on May 2, 2015 at 9:34 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of violation notices for animals at large. A deputy responding to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence in the Patterson area made contact with Todd and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. Todd was later released after paying a $287.50 fine.

 

Michael R. Wilkerson, 24, 214 Mars Road, Apt. 5, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on May 2, 2015 at 10:27 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace. A deputy made contact with Wilkerson at his residence and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. Wilkerson was later released on a $500 bond.

 

Juvenile male, 15, Patterson, LA was arrested on May 3, 2015 at 4:20 pm for theft.

Devonte M. Breaux, 17, 240 Cremo Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on May 3, 2015 at 4:20 pm for theft.

A deputy responded to a report of a theft of two bicycles. The bikes were stolen from a residence on Lori Lane in the Patterson area. With the assistance of witnesses and observant residents in the area, the deputy located two suspects and the bikes in the area. The suspects were identified as the juvenile male and Breaux. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings. Breaux was released on a summons to appear in court on July 22, 2015. The bicycles were returned to the owners.

 

Jeremiah E. Luke, 35, 105 Jordan Lane, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 3, 2015 at 8:37 pm for disturbing the peace (public intoxication). A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious person on Field Road in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that a male subject was stumbling down the roadway causing a disturbance in the area. The deputy made contact with the subject who was identified as Luke and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. Luke was unable to stand and was slurring his speech. The deputy transported Luke to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $500.
