Arrest Report - April 22, 2015

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Joaquima Colbert, 28, 621 Labau Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on April 21, 2015 at 9:57 am on a warrant from Iberia City Court for failure to appear on the charge of windshield/window view obscured. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Division located Colbert at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin. Colbert paid the fine and was released.

 

Chad Harris, 34, 129 Collins Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on April 21, 2015 at 10:07 am for the following offenses:

- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding, operating a vehicle without a drivers license, and failure to honor written promise to appear

- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft (over $750)

A deputy transported Harris from the Franklin Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrants. No bail is set.

 

Mark Hilliard, 32, Patterson, LA was additionally charged with aggravated second degree battery on April 21, 2015 at 1:54 pm. Hilliard, an inmate at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville, struck another inmate with a food tray and his fists during an argument. The victim sustained a facial fracture during the altercation and was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released to jail custody. Hilliard remains incarcerated.

 

Shabbanekia Myles, 21, 406 Wedell Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on April 21, 2015 at 4:20 pm for theft.

Karnisha Williams, 26, 570 Locust Street, Thibodaux, LA was arrested on April 21, 2015 at 4:20 pm for theft (over $1,000).

A deputy responded to a complaint of employee theft at a retail store in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Myles and Williams purchased items using an employee discount and then returned the items for a full price refund. The deputy determined that Williams also stole over $400 in cash from the business. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. Myles was released on a summons to appear in court on July 22, 2015. Williams was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Ramon D. Smith, 28, 112 Jolivette Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on April 21, 2015 at 7:10 pm on a warrant failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. A deputy assigned to patrol the Baldwin area observed Smith traveling in a vehicle on Martin Luther King Road. The deputy knew that there was an active warrant for Smith’s arrest and stopped the vehicle. The deputy transported Smith to the parish jail. No bail is set.
