According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Eric Driskill, 40, 3107 Second St. Berwick, LA was arrested on March 31, 2015 at 10:52 am for prohibited use of fireworks.
Jevon Smith, 37, 1119 Francis St. Patterson, LA was arrested on March 31, 2015 at 10:52 am for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Steve Berryhill, 44, 1468 Fairmont Avenue, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on March 31, 2015 at 10:52 am for the following offenses:
- Possession of Schedule III (Fiorinal)
- Possession of a Legend Drug (Keflex) without a prescription
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Deputies responded to a report of a loud noise on Fairmont Avenue. The complainant stated that the noise sounded like an explosion. Deputies and narcotics detectives responded to the area and learned that the noise came from the address of 1468 Fairmont Avenue, the residence of Berryhill. There, detectives made contact with three subjects and determined that the noise was caused by a firework. While the subjects were showing detectives the used firework in the garage, a detective observed a syringe nearby. Suspecting illegal drug activity, detectives furthered the investigation. Detectives received consent to search the residence and located Firinal and Keflex pills in Berryhill’s bedroom and several items of drug paraphernalia belonging to Smith. Driskell and Smith were released on a summons to appear in court on June 17, 2015. Berryhill was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Renwic White, 23, Baldwin, LA was additionally charged with introduction of contraband into a penal institution on March 31, 2015 at 1:59 pm. Jailers conducting a routine search of a dorm at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center located a cell phone on White’s person. White remains incarcerated.
Bricelon Martin, 18, 1192 Chitimacha Trail, Baldwin, LA was arrested on March 31, 2015 at 4:40 pm for the following offenses:
- Simple assault, 2 counts
- Disturbing the peace
- Battery of a police officer
- Resisting an officer
Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the Baldwin area. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Martin who was visibly angry and detained him pending further investigation. Deputies subsequently learned that Martin threatened to punch two female victims if they called the police. He then threatened to kill the victims for contacting the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for help. During the arrest, Martin pulled away from deputies in an attempt to break free. While resisting arrest, Martin clawed a deputy’s hand causing several cuts. A deputy transported Martin to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $3,000.
Harold Verdin, 39, 420 Sterling Drive, Houma, LA was arrested on March 31, 2015 at 5:03 pm on a warrant for communicating false information of a planned arson and criminal trespass. A deputy transported Verdin from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. The warrant stems from an investigation into a trespassing complaint received in November of 2014. The deputy responding to the complaint learned that Verdin entered onto a female victim’s property and threatened to burn down her home. No bail is set.
Natshia Lancelin, 39, 116 W. Long Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on March 31, 2015 at 9:52 pm for disturbing the peace and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. A deputy responded to a report of a fight at a residence on Penn Road South in the Franklin area. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Lancelin entered the residence without permission and engaged in a verbal altercation with another subject. The deputy transported Lancelin to the parish jail for booking. She was later released on a summons to appear in court on June 17, 2015.
