Arrest Report - March 18, 2015

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 46 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Demetrius King, 46, 615 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 17, 2015 at 10:25 am on a warrant from Houma City Court for failure to appear (contempt of court). A deputy made contact with King at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. King was transported to the parish jail for booking and later released as per Houma City Court.

 

Samantha D. Ledom, 23, 408 Darlene Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on March 17, 2015 at 12:50 pm for violation of the parish leash law ordinance.

 

Dennis Norwood, 23, 555 Wheelis Lane, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 17, 2015 at 12:50 pm for simple assault.

 

A deputy responded to a report of a subject being bit by a dog on Wheelis Lane. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Norwood was bitten on the leg by a dog belonging to Ledom. Following the incident, Norwood made verbal threats to Ledom. Both subjects were released on summonses to appear in court on June 17, 2015.

 

John May, Jr., 25, 2019 West Side Park Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on March 17, 2015 at 5:42 pm on a warrant for theft. A deputy made contact with May at his residence and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation into the theft of a boiling basket from a residence in Amelia. May was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $1,000.

 

Juvenile female, 16, Charenton, LA was arrested on March 17, 2015 at 7:25 pm for domestic abuse battery, battery of a police officer, and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Charenton. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that the juvenile initiated a physical altercation with two other female subjects striking both of them. During her arrest, the juvenile struck the deputy and also attempted to pull away repeatedly. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Jeffery T. Matherne, 37, 127 Saint Clair Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 17, 2015 at 9:20 pm on a warrant for simple battery. A deputy assigned to patrol the Amelia area observed a vehicle moving erratically in the local library parking lot. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Matherne. The deputy discovered that Matherne was wanted on an active warrant issued in May of 2006. Matherne was transported to the parish jail and later released on a $500 bond. The deputy investigating the complaint that resulted in the warrant determined that Matherne punched another driver in the head while their vehicles were stopped at a traffic light on Highway 90 in the Bayou Vista area.
