Arrest Report - January 28, 2015

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

  

Travis Johnson, 39, 714 ½ Utah Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on January 27, 2015 at 2:31 pm on the charges of:

 

- Possession of marijuana, 3rd offense

- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute

- Obstruction of justice

- Possession of Schedule II (Norco)

- Possession of drug paraphernalia

- Resisting an officer

- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (church)

- Littering

 

Brian Henderson, 31, 736 Utah Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on January 27, 2015 at 2:31 pm on the charges of:

 

- Driving under suspension

- Improper lane usage

- Possession of marijuana, 2nd offense

- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute

- Resisting an officer

- Obstruction of justice

 

Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division observed a vehicle cross over the fog line while travelling on Highway 90 in the Siracusvaille area and initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle failed to pull over. Detectives continued to follow the SUV and observed the two occupants throwing bags of methamphetamine and marijuana out of the vehicle. Shortly after the occupants discarded the illegal drugs, the driver of the vehicle stopped on Roderick Street in Morgan City. Detectives made contact with both occupants identifying the driver as Henderson and the passenger as Johnson. As detectives moved to detain both suspects, Johnson began eating a small amount of additional drugs that were in the vehicle. Detectives also observed a bag of methamphetamine in his lap. During a search of Johnson's person, detectives located a Norco pill. The bags of methamphetamine and marijuana thrown from the SUV were recovered. The traffic stop occurred less than 2,000 feet from a church on Roderick Street Johnson and Henderson were transported to the parish jail for booking.

 

Jason Mathews, 33, 178 Friendship Alley, Amelia LA was arrested on January 27, 2015 at 7:55 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of improper turn, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license and failure to honor written promise to appear. Mathews was located at a residence in Bayou L’Ourse on the warrant and subsequently transported to the parish jail for booking. He was later released after paying a $335 fine.

 

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 45 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Bryan Wright, 142 Ponderosa Drive, Grey, LA was additionally charged on a warrant for issuing worthless checks on January 27, 2015 at 7:36 pm. Wright, who was booked into the parish jail on unrelated charges was found to have an active warrant. No bail is set.

 

John Fitzgerald, 56, 202 Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 27, 2015 at 8:18 pm on a St. Martin Parish warrant for failure to appear on the charge of riding or hauling on levees. A deputy assigned to patrol the Amelia area made contact with Fitzgerald and discovered the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Fitzgerald to the parish jail for booking.

 

Tommy Nguyen, 40, 21403 Highway 182 W, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on January 27, 2015 at 9:50 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy was dispatched to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Jeanerette. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Nguyen grabbed a female victim and pushed her to the ground during an argument outside of the residence. The deputy transported Nguyen to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Fonzie Wade, 35, 143 Sun Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 28, 2015 at 2:22 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks. A deputy responding to an unrelated complaint made contact with Wade at his residence and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Wade to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
