Traffic Stop Investigation Leads to Meth Lab Bust - Arrest Report January 9, 2015

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
                                        

Lynette Guidry, 32, 3107 Wytchwood Drive, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 8, 2015 at 4:12 pm for the following offenses:

- General speed law

- Vehicle license required

- Driving under suspension

- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute

- Possession of drug paraphernalia

 

Ira Grow, Jr., 58, 3107 Wytchwood Drive, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 8, 2015 at 6:26 pm on the following offenses:

- Manufacturing methamphetamine

- Operation of a clandestine laboratory

- Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance

- Possession of drug paraphernalia

 

Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division patrolling Highway 90 in the Amelia area observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed (85 mph in a 70 mph zone). Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Guidry. While speaking to Guidry, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located three bags of methamphetamine and a glass pipe. Detectives also located a bag of methamphetamine on Guidry's person. During the traffic stop, detectives discovered that the license plate on the vehicle had been canceled and that Guidry was driving under suspension. Guidry was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. The bags of drugs located during the traffic stop investigation were consistent with street level drug sales leading detectives to continue the investigation at the above listed address on Wytchwood Drive. There, narcotics detectives made contact with Grow and received consent to search the residence. Detectives located methamphetamine, 2 active clandestine labs, 2 firearms, and multiple items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Grow was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 39 complaints and reports the following arrests:
 

Stacey Tabor, 32, 722 Fourth Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 8, 2015 at 2:50 pm on a warrant for 5 counts of unauthorized use of an access card. A detective assigned in September to investigate a complaint of a stolen credit card identified Tabor as the subject who used the card at several stores in the area to purchase over $850 in goods and services. Tabor was located at the Morgan City jail and booked on the warrant. No bail is set.

 

Jarret C. Cortez, 26, 249 Vivian Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 8, 2015 at 3:13 pm on 5 warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. A drug court compliance deputy transported Cortez from the Assumption Detention Center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrants. Bail is set at $500,000.

 

Brian Delaune, Jr., ., 29, 3911 Mount Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on January 8, 2015 at 7:33 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of subutex, possession of oxycodone, and violation of a protective order. Delaune was transported from the Morgan City Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant.

 

Palmer Cox, IV, 50, 747 Oregon Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on January 8, 2015 at 8:10 pm on the following warrants:

- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession, distribution, or sale of a Legend Drug without a prescription, possession of Schedule I second offense, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and operating a vehicle with improper stop lamps

- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle with a suspended license

During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a jailer conducting a standard warrants check located the two active warrants for Cox’s arrest. No bail is set.
