A deputy responded to a report of illegal drug activity at West St. Mary High School. Hatch was released on a summons to appear in court on April 7, 2015.

The deputy made contact with Hebert on Sunny Side Lane and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. Hebert was treated for an injury to his leg at Teche Regional Medical Center. The deputy determined that the injury was not consistent with being struck by a vehicle travelling at highway speeds. Based on statements and other evidence gathered during the investigation, the deputy learned that Hebert and his wife had been drinking at a bar on Highway 182 in Amelia. The two later began arguing in a vehicle outside of the business when Hebert exited the vehicle and his wife drove away. Hebert admitted to the deputy that he had been drinking and was walking near Highway 182 in an intoxicated state. Hebert’s actions caused a hazard to him and to the public. Hebert’s wife returned to the area a short time later and transported him to their residence on Sunny Side lane where Hebert began complaining of leg pain. The deputy released Hebert on a summons to appear in court on April 7, 2015.
