Arrest Report December 30, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 33 complaints and reports the following arrests:
 

Stacey Tabor, 32, 722 4th Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 29, 2014 at 12:09 pm on 5 counts of unauthorized use of an access card and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of motor vehicle fuel. A deputy transported Tabor from the Lafourche Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. The warrant for 5 counts of unauthorized use of an access card is the result of an investigation that began in September after the victim reported that a credit card had been taken and used without permission. The detective assigned to the case identified Tabor as the subject who withdrew cash on the card on 5 separate occasions from different banks in the parish. The victim was acquainted with Tabor. The 5 withdrawals totaled $1,200. No bail is set.

 

Gage Landry, 25, 138 Rider Street, Lafayette, LA was arrested on December 29, 2014 at 12:58 pm for possession of Schedule I and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 90 in the Franklin area for speeding. As the deputy made contact with the driver, he smelled the strong odor of burning marijuana emanating from the vehicle and observed pieces of marijuana on the seat inside the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, identified as Landry, the deputy located two small bags of marijuana, a grinder, and a pipe. The deputy released Landry on a summons to appear in court on March 11, 2015 and also issued a citation for speeding, 87 mph in a 70 mph zone.

 

Quentin Cooper, 24, 107 Poncio Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 29, 2014 at 2:41 pm on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Cooper turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. Bail is set at $100,000.   

 

Deavnta J. Burden, 22, 1158 Highway 83 Lot A, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 29, 2014 at 2:45 pm for the following offenses:

- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of domestic abuse battery and possession of Schedule I (marijuana)

- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal damage to property

- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery

A deputy located Burden at his residence on the warrants. The deputy transported Burden to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
                                        

Kalyn Gros, 25, 2423 Pecan Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 29, 2014 at 5:49 pm for the following offenses:

- Failure to use turn signal

- Possession of marijuana, 2nd offense

- Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance

- Possession of a CDS in the presence of a juvenile.

Narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Gros for failure to use a turn signal when turning onto Highway 182 from Federal Avenue. During the course of the traffic stop investigation, detectives located marijuana and a shotgun inside Gros’
vehicle. There was also a child in the vehicle with Gros. Gros was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
